I miss you mom

I woke up with a tear-stained face and a blanket on me. I looked around and saw the lights on in the kitchen. I knew it wasn't my dad beause my dad had work.

But sure enough, there in the kitchen was my dad. And let me just say, he looked terrible. His hair was disheveled and even from a couple feet away,I could smell whiskey emanating from him.

"Dad? Are you okay?" I said in a soft voice.

He kept his head down,"No. Not really."

"What happened?"

He turned around, revealing bags under his bloodshot eyes, and stubble growing on his chin. "I was laid off."

I walked over to him and hugged him. God he smelled bad.

"You're going to get another job, right?"

He looked at me,"I don't know honey. I've been too tired to look. Plus all other jobs are out of town, and I know how much you love it here."

I smiled, he would pass up a job opportunity for me?

"I don't care if it's out of town. I can get a job here if you want. Maybe at a resturant?"

He nodded his head,"Honey, you don't have to do anything."

"But I want to." I said in a huff, "But for now you need to take a shower."

He laughed and walked into the bathroom,"Fine, but that doesn't mean I'm letting you off the hook. You don't need a job."

I smiled. I can always cheer him up when he's down.

I sat down at my desk and opened my computer. I looked up jobs in GrayFeild. I know he didn't want me to get a job, but that didn't mean I couldn't help him get one.
