Adam tried to contain his laughter as a very red Lawrence stood in front of him, wash cloth in hand, washing his chest where the medical tape left a sticky residue.

"Wipe that smirk off your face," Lawrence said, his eyes glancing at his grinning face.

"I thought you saw naked people for a living, Dr. Gordon," Adam chuckled, "and I'm not completely naked."

Lawrence raised his eyebrows, "I like the way my name sounds coming from your mouth." He smirked, his tone making the hair on the back of Adam's neck stand up and a blush creep up his cheeks.

"Look who's blushing now," Larry adds, his eyes squinting as he laughs.

"That wasn't funny," Adam pouts, seeing Larry laughing tugged at something in his chest.

"Plus, my patients are asleep," he said as he rinsed the cloth, "and aren't staring me in the face." His hand tilted Adam's head upwards, gently wiping away the debris left from that room. Larry couldn't help admiring his face, everything about him was just so perfect: the dip between his eyebrows when he's concentrating and the way his lips so slightly pout. Larry seemed to forget everything when he looked at Adam, seemed to lose sense of everything but him.

The washcloth dipped down the bridge of his nose. A smile spread across Adam's lips. Larry seemed to lean in ever so slightly, his eyes so focus on Adam's face.

Adam was so worried that Lawrence could hear his heart beating in his chest, pounding in his ribcage. His eyes met his lips at last. Lawrence licked his lips before looking into Adam's eyes, silently asking as he leaned in closer. As soon as his head nodded slightly, their lips met at last; Larry's heart beating just as fast as Adam's.

Their lips moved together in sync and Adam began smiling against Larry's lips. Lawrence pulled away for only a second but Adam whined nevertheless.

Something in Larry's eyes shone as Adam took in his face. It was so close to his own.

"So," Adam paused, "do you still think I'm a bottomfeeder?" Larry let out a surprise laugh before shaking his head, his lips immediately back onto Adam's.

Adam's hand gently grazed his cheek and the other wrapping around Larry's waist. He wasn't hesitant like he was beofre since everything felt...right in that moment, with their lips together and hands on each other.

The kiss deepened. Their foreheads leaning against each others, their noses bumping every now and again. Their lips broke apart, both panting as Adam's body trembled. Larry cupped his cheek, running his finger over Adam's bottom lip.

Lawrence gripped the wet cloth in his hand, "I think we're done." He threw it into the sink before leaving Adam alone in the bathroom.

Adam ignored the crack in his chest, ignoring the slight devastation of being left rather unexpectedly. He looked in the small round mirror above the sink: his cheeks had a slightly pink blush staining them, his eyes red rimmed from crying, his hair messy. The wound on his shoulder wasn't looking much better.

He left his soaked shirt on the floor, leaving the bathroom. Lawrence sat on the couch, staring at nothing in particular.

"Lawrence?" he murmured, grabbing the first aid kit on the kitchen counter. "Can you help me?" He looked up a split second, taking in the boy with the first aid kit in his hand. He hummed as a response, holding out his hand.

Adam sat next to him, wincing in pain as the doctor re-wrapped his shoulder. He silently cherished the doctor's fingers brushing gently against his skin.

"Larry?" Adam questioned, his eyes taking in Lawrence's bandaged stump and cane, "are you okay?" Adam wanted to talk about it, needed to talk about it.

He seemed taken back by the question, his eyes narrowing.
"I know you aren't," Adam's voice was soft, "please let me in."

He was silent. Adam put his hand on top of Larry's but he moved from his grasp.

"Lawrence, please don't push me away." Adam whispered. Nausea washed over him.

"I almost lost you." He replied, his voice cracking. There was a short intake of breath before tears started to fall.

"You saved me." Adam blinked back tears, "I wouldn't be alive without you."

Lawrence put his head in his hands, broken sobs leaving his lips. "How can I truly say I save people when-" his eyes flickered to his bandaged shoulder.

"Lawrence," his eyes threatening to release tears. "We are both alive. If you didn't do what you did, we would have both died in that room." Lawrence went still on the couch. "I didn't know how much I wanted to live whe-"

"Stop it." Larry whispered. His hands trembled.

Adam shook his head, "I'm so grateful for yo-"

"Stop it." He shouted, inhaling quickly through his nose. His whole body shook as he leaned over Adam on the couch. "I hate this. It would've been so much easier if I never make it out." If I died was what he didn't need to say. Tears fell but his words didn't stumble.

Adam's heart froze over. A sob ripped from his throat. Lawrence broke from his trance and snatched his cane, storming to the room before slamming the door.

Adam didn't move. He just stared at where Lawrence once stood, his words suffocating him. His breath was robbed from him as sobs left his mouth. He grasped the couch, bowing his head. What happened to the joking, the Lawrence he started to fall for, in the bathroom only 5 minutes ago?

He laid down, slowly, the world blurring through his tears. He didn't know how long he stared until his eyes drooped and the world went black.
