I started grinding up the sage leaves to a fine powder, sprinkling it over the kettle, steaming with another tea. This one had the ability to increase someone's speed for the next hour after being drunk. This would be considered a potion of sorts but I prefer calling it tea, because that's what it is in all senses, a tea that happens to give powers. While not being the most difficult to make, it still requires a certain amount of willpower and focus to brew successfully. Luckily I have both, I think to myself. Within the next five minutes the tea will be placed in a jar that keeps it fresh for at least a few months. As soon as the lid had been sealed, it was placed in a box with another two dozen just like it.

As the small clock on the wall struck 12:00 p.m., on schedule three guards came in, one taking the box to Aaron for inspection, the other two handcuffing my hands with vengestone and leading me back to the cell. This slightly annoyed me, but I kept myself in check as I started observing their shifts. Wait, something is going on!, I thought as my eyes continued surveying. This is shift A-3! They were supposed to clock out half an hour ago...something made them switch up the shifts, but what? They couldn't do this unless it was a direct order from Samukai, this means something big is going to happen if it hasn't already. They can't be attacking Ninjago, all the troops are still here and word about it would spread weeks, months even before it happened. Each time this happened it meant either we were preparing to move locations, they caught onto my escape plan again somehow, or.............we got new prisoners..... As this thought passes through my mind, I keep my shocked expression from showing.

Hiding under a mask of calm, I start trying to make sense of this development. We've only been here for a few months so moving is out of the question. If they had managed to hear word of my plans, they would be much more upfront about it then just casually moving around the shifts. But......they've never brought in new prisoners, only me. Why would they need more prisoners? I can't imagine any use for them except to use them as bait or hostage, and I can easily be used for that if they wanted to. Come on M! Just start thinking already! As the thoughts whirl around my mind, I notice that we are slowly getting closer to the cell. We also take the longer route which seems odd enough as it is, but then we turn right.. Wait! I thought we were going back to the cell, but this is the path to the interrogation room. Why are they taking me there? Aaron is the one who does the interrogations, why do they need me? I'm missing something here, I know it! As we slowly approach the room, I feel myself begin to panic. I close my eyes for a bit, short enough to be considered a blink, but just long enough for me to continue to mask my split-second panic. I need to keep my cool. I think to myself quietly. Panicking will not help, just stay aware and be prepared to fight. For all I know Samukai could be doing this just to freak me out! He does love messing around with me. But no, this has to do with the shift changes. Come on Amira, start analyzing! What makes shift A-3 the best shift to stay half an hour later then they were supposed to? What are their assets? There's nothing too distinctive between them and the others....but they are abnormally larger than the others. Maybe the new prisoners are high-risk? That's the most logical explanation but who would be so easy to capture that no one cared to talk about it, but still needs to have this shift on their tails? Maybe some Serpentine hostages, I heard their leader Scales is pretty smart, but the rest of them are kinda dumb. Can't be anyone who's a good fighter, the skeletons may have armor and powerful tea but they are incredibly stupid when it comes to using it, by themselves they make for pathetic fighters. But this doesn't help me figure out who it is! Guess I could ask the guards.

"Hey, why are we heading to the interrogation room?"

"How am I supposed to know?" the guard replies, confused.

Ugh, knucklehead!

"Forget it." I state simply.

As we approach the room, I feel myself getting more nervous. I might not know what to expect but it can't be good. As the guards open the door, I hear Samukai's voice speaking to someone.

"Ah, here she is. M, why don't you introduce yourself to our new guests?"

Once the guards moved out of the way, I was able to fully see the room we were in. and what I saw, shocked me to my core.
