Mother always told me that a woman's purpose in life was to get the approval of the "men above us". That our body was a temple,

and everyone was allowed in it.

That we're here to serve up to the rapture and gratification of the men and their genitalia.

Mother always said that our bodies were just another way to please men. The virtue of a woman lied deep within, soon to be blossomed with growth. Validation is key. A key that can only unlock the door to society once you've lived up to standards.

Mother always told me that I'd never unlock that door to society.

Whether that be true or not, it didn't really matter, I wouldn't be able to reach up to that caliber anyways. Sometimes, I imagine what it would be like to be pretty.

Would boys obsess over me like I do to them?

Would all the eyes be on me once I walk into a crowded room?
