AT .....?

(there's no covid in this story, he's just famous so he wears the mask)

"you ready?" the black-haired man asked me

"yeah" i replied, "is that what i think it is??"

"yupp" he fixed his mask and came around and opened the door for me, taking my hand in his and closing the door after i got out," THE ARCADE?!!!"

i held his hands tighter, running into the street, looking both ways of course , i'm not a j-walker, crossing the street and walking the rest of the way to entrance.

"damn bouta pull my arm off" he winced and rolled his shoulder backwards cracking it

"should i let go of your hand then?" i replied sarcastically, looking him in his eyes

"hold up causee, i never said that ma'am" he grabbed my hands tighter leading me in

damn its bright , i looked around the area the neon lights and big bright signs blinding me. he led me to the front desk to buy a bunch of coins. coins, i've always liked the coin concept never understood why they deceided to change it to cards in the first place. i was snapped out of my small trance, when he grabbed a big bucket with two medium sized buckets of coins.

"damn, we bouta finish all those?!!" my neck turned at him, my eyebrow raised

"nooo, we're gonna give them away" he rolled his eyes, leading me to the race car area

mmcht, i turned off my phone notifications before sitting down on the seat. it was a red seat and the tv screen had about three cars on them. it had different languages in the corner, and flags of different countries on the top. i looked over at him as he struggled to fit the coin into the slit. "IMAGINEEE" i laughed at him

"you think you're so fucking funny huh?" he took his phone and took a video of me laughing.

i stopped instantly. "yeah, that's what i thought" he finally got the coin into the slit and moved over to mine. i took some time to stare at his hands again. his other hand. it was a silver ring, with a red gem inside of it, it was pretty. every time it moved, the gem would shine in the light. i moved over to push the coin in since he was struggling again. "loser" i shrugged after patting his back, "it's okay to not be able to get the coin in, don't cry"

"not everyone can be like me" i shook my head side to side slowly repeatedly and sighed

he side eyed me and moved towards my face, pulling his mask down to his chin, pushing one braid behind my ear, " nobody wants to be like you" he whispered, "they'd rather be like me"

even if what he said wasn't amusing in any way, shape or form. the feeling of his breath on my skin made me hot. "boy please, don't be mad if i beat you" i turned to the gaming station. positioning my foot on the gas pedal. he put his mask back on turning to his own hitting the start button.
