Mistake (Sehun One-Shot Story)

Mistakes we commit because of love. And from those mistakes we learn.

I am an only child. Usually if you are an only child, you are stereotype by people as someone who is spoiled, pampered and the center of attention. And guess what, I am. My parents gave me everything. They never turned down any of my wishes. They had been supportive to me even to my dreams. So when I asked them if I could join the basketball varsity team of the university, they never opposed to it. They knew that ever since then, I love playing basketball. It was my favorite sport since I was a kid.

I joined the try outs and thankfully I passed. After several months of training, I had been chosen to be one of the top players in our team who always competed to inter-school competitions. I was always part of the starting five in our team.

And because of basketball, I was able to gain a lot of friends. But among them all, I was closest to our team captain, Kim Jun Myeon because we always jive in many things. Aside from that, I looked up to him as my sunbae. I am amazed how he could excel both in academics and sports. My parents loved him too because they said that he had been such a good influence in my life. My mom even told me that Junmyeon hyung was my long lost brother. I guess being an only child still get what he wants right? I remember one time that I wished for an older brother and I think my wish was granted because I have Junmyeon hyung.

But then, there was one wish I knew that it would be impossible. A wish to make a person you are deeply in love with to feel the same towards you.

I am in love with Jeong Nira, my bestfriends's girlfriend. Junmyeon hyung's girlfriend.

According to Junmyeon hyung, they had been together for six years. They became a couple ever since their sophomore year in high school. And now that they are in their senior year in college, they were still in love with each other.

I can still remember the day that I met her. The day where it started as an admiration and ended up in love.

The sky was starting to get dark but I have no plans yet of going home. Our practice was already done and my team mates already went home. I decided to stay and practice more. I am still not good in doing three-point shots so I wanted to enhance that skill. I dribbled and shot from the 3-point line repeatedly. Moving from right to middle and left of the 3-point line again and again. However, I am getting frustrated because I barely miss a lot of my shots. Tired and defeated, I slumped myself on the floor and closed my eyes.

"You suck at three points Oh Sehun." I muttered to myself.

"No you're not." A voice replied and I immediately opened my eyes.

I was surprised to see a girl looking down at me and smiling. I instantly got up from my feet.

"Hi!" She greeted as she giggled.

I was staring at her face and just thought how beautiful she is. She got brown eyes, thin pink lips curved into a smile and her dark brown wavy locks which fall freely on her shoulders.

"I'm Jeong Nira and you are?"

I was snatched from my trance when I realize that her hands were extended to me.

"Oh Sehun." I said as I shook her hands which are tiny yet soft.

"Freshman?" She asked and I just nodded.

"I'm sorry I think I must have surprised you a while ago. I was actually watching you for quite a long time and I can say that you are good." She said and I don't know why my cheeks started to blush.
