Ship: Dandy x Jingles

Warning: nothing but fluff and kisses
------

Dandy sighed for the twentieth time that day. Across from him, where they were moving a table back to its spot, Shifty shot him an annoyed look.

"Are you still sulking? They've been gone for only three months." He snipped as Dandy pouted at him.

"I haven't gotten a letter from him in two months! And he hardly answers my texts!" Dandy complained as he flopped on top of the table with a huff, completely ignoring the guests in the restaurant. "He hardly calls too! What if he found someone?"

Shifty rolled his eyes as he walked around to head back into the server station, Dandy trailing behind him, "You two aren't dating already?"

Dandy pouted at this, "I kinda hinted at dating before they up and left..."

Shifty snorted as he took his bottle and sipped on it, "That's your own fault. You waited too long."

"But we're besties!"

"Then why are you acting like he's probably cheating on you?"

Dandy clenched his fists and whined, "I'm not! I just want him to answer me more!"

Shifty hummed and leaned against the counter, "They might be moving around again if he hasn't been able to contact you?"

Dandy walked over and leaned on Shifty, a whine in his throat, "You think? I try not to spam him cause I don't want to come off as clingy and possessive... but I really miss him..."

Shifty shook his head fondly and patted his head, "Come over tonight, you needy child."

At this, Dandy perked up, "Really?"

A nod had him bouncing in excitement, "Cuddles is having a party and we invited our friends. You're a friend. So... yeah..."

Dandy laughed at Shifty for his bashfulness before nodding, "Should I bring something?"

Shifty hummed and pushed him a bit, "Bring those weird little banana snacks you like to make."

Dandy paused at this and tilted his head, "The strawberry-chocolate covered ones I make?"

Shifty nodded before leaving the younger man alone to go check on his tables. Dandy stood there for a moment before a small smile spread on his face. The strawberry flavored chocolate he made was an original recipe he came up with that he liked to cover bananas with and make a sandwich with strawberry slices. Shifty didn't care for it when he first shared the treat with the man, but Jingles did.

"It's so sweet!"

The image of Jingles' delighted face after trying the snack had been burned into his memory. After he had left, Shifty had been indulging in him with the snacks, requesting and eating it every time Dandy was down about Jingles not being around anymore.

"Dandy, you have a new table!"

"I'm coming!"

Later after his shift, he went to the store to get the ingredients he needed to make the snack. He ran into some trouble with a runaway donkey that began kicking in people's stomach with deadly strength, but managed to outrun the beast before Splendid came by to restrain it.

"Take a spoon full of sugar, helps the medicine go down," he sung, mixing the chocolate mixure over the stove.

He was in too much of a good mood to be disappointed by his uncle snatching up his money when he walked in. The old man had started living with him and his dad after the lazy mooch got booted from his newest ex-girlfriend's place. Usually the freeloader was out, so he wasn't upset that his tip money was bullied away from him, he already got what he needed with most of the money anyways.
