maybe it was a dumb idea to pick dream to be his personal tutor, maybe it was dumb to have a plan (that was now ditched) to get his secrets out in general.
it was a dick move from punz and the blond knew that, though he convinced himself that it was indeed just something he needed to do at the time - for him and hannah. now that hannah is gone it seemed like it was just pathetic to carry it on and that he should just leave it, so he did.
he did the very moment dream gave him the necklace.
this made punz think that dream really cared about him, despite his negative behaviour towards him. when hannah died nobody was there for him, not his friends, nor his parents. but you know who was? dream. dream gave him these suggestions to help him, he made sure that punz knew it wasn't embarrassing to cry and that it was perfectly normal to do so in his situation. dream always called punz at 8pm sharp to make sure he was okay and to remind him that it wasn't his fault that hannah died.
which was something punz blamed himself on quite a lot.
as punz adjusted the hood on the hoodie with his right hand, the left on the door handle of the library, he opened the door and entered the room he had entered earlier that day.
it was more silent than usual, the librarian not being here and the students all going home. the library would've been thought to be empty of the soft voice of dream didn't speak up.
"hello, beautiful." punz could hear the smile in his voice as he saw dream turn a corner to reveal himself, a smile placed fondly onto his nearly paler skin than punz's own.
"hey, handsome." hitting back with the same style of nickname, punz shot a smile before sitting down on one of the more comfortable chairs of the library.
it was a grey chair with vibrant royal blue cushions squeezed in each corner of it. leaning back after throwing his backpack on the floor, punz closed his eyes for a moment. the lighter blond ignored the approaching footsteps he could hear on the thin carpet of the library.
"you okay?" dream's voice was closer than punz expected, as proven when the shorter opened his eyes with dream looking down at him.
the blue eyed sent dream a nod, sitting back up with a straight posture and watched whilst dream dragged a chair over to sit opposite punz.
"you sure?"
"stop worrying about me, i'm fine." the words didn't come from punz's mouth as harsh, but rather soft and thankful that dream actually cared in some sort of way.
"i don't have to tutor you today, you know. we can just talk." suggested dream, who was making direct eye contact with punz.
"i asked for you to tutor me, so you're going to tutor me." reaching down for his backpack, the blue eyed unzipped it.
"okay, moody pants." leaning back in his chair, dream kept looking at punz - almost examining him in some sort of way.
with a roll of the eyes, punz grabbed his math book and threw it at dream. dream, who failed to catch the math book, complained to punz (who ignored him and quite frankly didn't acknowledge what the floridian was saying).
"why is your math book so scruffy?" flicking through the paper pages, dream scanned over the squared paper.
"and why is your voice so annoying?" smirking, punz zipped his bag back up and pushed it aside.
it was silent after punz's remark, which punz took as some sort of granted victory. dream only moved on when he saw what punz needed to catch up on and tutored him about it, which punz struggled with a lot.
