Arely's POV
"Good morning!" One of the student council leaders says with a bright smile planted on her face.
I give a slight smile back as I walk into the school. Once inside the school I go straight to the bathroom. The whole bus ride I was trying my hardest to keep this blood from coming out of my nose and even resorted in swallowing some when it was getting harder and harder to keep it from leaking from my nose.
I grabbed a couple napkins and stuff them into my nose for a second. As I do that tears flood my eyes.
I just wish this man would stop hitting me, I wish he'd love me like he used to... like when we were happy. I thought.
I shake my head as Laiya walked into the bathroom. I hid the napkins in my pocket and smiled at her.
"There you are... we need to talk" she looks at me.
"What's wrong?" I ask as she grabs my arm leads me out of the bathroom.
Of all people, she knows I don't like being dragged by my arm.
"Stop! What is wrong Laiya?" I snatch my arm back.
"Hey guys" Landon walks up to us both.
"Not now..." Laiya mashed her hand in his face. "Arely, I don't want to be friends with you anymore."
"What?" I laugh. "You're crazy? We've been friends since elementary"
"I'm serious. Other than school me and you don't talk... you're always so secretive too, what's with that?"
I stuttered. I didn't want her to ask me what was really up with that especially not with Landon standing right here.
"See? You can't even be honest with me anymore."
I tried to walk away but she pulled my arm making me wince in pain. My dad had crushed my arm in my bedroom door because I was trying not to get locked in there. He knows how much I hate being locked in a room and he tried to lock me in my own bedroom. He kept telling me to move my arm but I wouldn't do it, it's my worst fear to be locked in a room by myself.
"Stop! Stop grabbing me!" I tried to push her away from me.
"Wait, hold up what's going on?" Landon asks confused.
I was so embarrassed. I just wanted to go home and Laiya was the only thing stopping me from doing that.
"I want to know why you're so secretive all the time!" Laiya shouts.
"I'm not secretive with you Laiya" I began to get irritated.
"Yes the fuck you are!"
"Come on now grow the fuck up, do we really have to do this here? Right here, right now?" I looked her in the eyes to see if she was serious.
She didn't say anything.
"Okay then" I turn to walk away but she grabs the hood on my hoodie.
The hood come off and all the dark ass bruises on my neck a revealed.
"... Whoa" Landon takes a step back with wide eyes.
I sighed looking down. I was mad, hurt, betrayed... God, I felt sick. To make matters worse it felt like the whole school was watching.
With tears in my eyes I turn around and look at Laiya.
"Are you happy now?"
She stares at me with wide eyes.
"I'm... I'm sorry Relly"
I turn and walk right out the front doors of the school.
Fuck this place. I thought.
Landon's POV
"Why did you do that?" I asked Laiya.
"... Did you know about that?" She looked as if all the blood was drained from her body.
"No I did not, now why the fuck would you do that?" I repeated.
"I don't know..." she looked down.
"That was something else baby. Ion know what she had going on with her neck but—"
"You did this for him?" I point at who I'm guessing is her nigga.
"Yeah she did it for me. What's wrong witchu?" He challenged me.
"That was fucked up, Laiya. And even you know that" I told her.
"Get the fuck out of here before I—"
I quickly stepped forward so that we were face to face. "Before you what?"
"No, no, no... please stop" Laiya stepped in between us and put some space between us two.
"You ain't even worth it" I back up.
One thing I can say is that since I've been in Lubbock I've taught myself how to have a little more self control. I know my strength and the damage I could do to this kid with like 2 punches is beyond his knowledge.
"You're just a bitch" Laiya's boyfriend says.
The more he talks the angrier I get, I catch myself clenching my hands into fists. He takes one glance at my hands and then steps closer to me.
"Back up, you don't want this" I tell him.
"Zay, Stop!" Laiya shouts.
He pushed me back and I don't do anything because I'm really not trying to start myself out in a bad rep here at this school. Plus I'm new so it damn sure wouldn't look good on my record.
"Come on bitch! Swing!" He pushed me hard almost making me trip.
He pushed me again while I was trying to recover from tripping and made me fall. Instinctively, I got back up and swung. My fist connected with his face and he was down and out in a second.
Standing over him I swung hitting him with haymakers repeatedly.
"Get off of him!" Laiya screams.
I was pulled back by my shirt so in my head it was like the ref just told me to stop. Instantly I snap out of fight mode.
"This is all your fault" I made sure Laiya knew it too.
Her boyfriend is fucked up for telling her to do it and she's fucked up for knowing that it's wrong but still deciding to do it.
"You," a teacher with a walk-in talkie in his hand points at me. "Office"
Ain't that just great...
