After breakfast, we all went our separate ways the remainder of the day. I went to the beach and not long after, Logan and Virgil showed up. They stood there, clearly debating whether to join me or not.

"Come on in! The water's great!" I exclaimed, inviting them to join me.

"That's kind of you Roman, really. But—" Logan started, before Virgil stopped him.

From my vantage point, I couldn't tell what he was saying, but it was a lot of hand signals. "Are you sure, Virgil? What about?" He stopped speaking and did some ASL back to him.

"I feel like I'm missing something. What are you guys being so secretive about?" I said, swimming to shore. I got out of the water and went up to them. "You're hiding something. Both of you." I pointed out.

"Roman, it's nothing. Really. Just a joke Virgil and I have is all. You had to be there." Logan lied, terribly.

"You're a horrible liar, Logan. What were you two talking about? Be honest. Whatever it is, you can trust me! I won't tell the others. I promise." I said, reassuringly.

"Virge? You want me to tell him? Or do you want to show him?" Logan offered.

He removed his hoodie, revealing his purple shirt and some scars on his arms. I wonder what those are from? Oh no he sees me looking at them! Look away! Look away!

He covered his mouth like he was laughing. But, it's inaudible. "Virgil? What are you going to show me?" He stepped backwards and I felt my heart pound a little faster in my chest as I saw a pair of dark purple wings sprout from his back and he shot into the sky like a purple rocket!

"Logan? Did you know he could do that?" I asked him.

"Yes, I did. He made me promise not to tell you, Remus, or Brandon and Miles. I imagine Patton and Janus already know and most likely have for quite some time now." He explained, watching Virgil circle us up above.

"Lo, be honest with me."

"Okaayyy?" He said, questioningly.

"Are you guys? You know?" He stared at me, surprised.

"An item? Roman, it's only been a few days. We barely know each other. No! We aren't. We're just friends. And if he could use words, I'm certain he'd say the exact same thing." He replied, adjusting his glasses.

Then, I felt a sudden chill go up my spine. As though we weren't alone on the beach. "Logan? Do you feel that?" He nodded, and pointed behind me.

"ROMAN! LOOK OUT!!!!" He screamed. I turned, but couldn't step out of the way in time. I had noticed that Virgil wasn't in the sky above us anymore before this.

"Logan! Go! Warn the others!" I shouted, in a warning. He nodded, and sped off, away from me and my captor. Then, he whacked me on the head, knocking me out.
