I hid behind Logan and Roman when Janus used his power on Remus. When he turned to me, I took off further into the jungle out of fear. It was a fear I haven't felt since I was a kid with him.

I kept running until I bumped into something. I looked up and realized it was, "Brandon? What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"Virgil? I don't understand sign language, unfortunately. Wait, Logan? What happened?!" He said, worriedly.

"Janus used some power of his on Remus and Virgil ran off! Virge? Are you okay?" He inquired, concerned, walking up to us.

"He's never done that before. It reminded me of my father. My blood father. Decan. Lo, I wanna tell you in private. Tell them that. Please? I trust you on this." I said.

He nodded. "He wants a private discussion with me. Miles, wherever you are, can you and Brandon go back and check on the others please? We'll be there soon." He explained. Brandon nodded in understanding and Miles jumped down from a tree and joined him.

"Logan, I wanted to tell you yesterday. But I wasn't sure if I could trust you and I feared rejection. You see, I struggled to make and keep friends growing up, and most of them rejected me because of my lineage and what I am." I explained.

"Virgil, I would never reject you. Hell, my own parents rejected me from a young age because of my sexuality and my emotions. So, with me at least, you don't have to fear rejection anymore." He said, assuringly.

"Okay. Here goes nothing, I guess," I removed my hoodie, revealing a few scars from his belt whippings on my arms and then, they popped out. My wings. I had the wings of a raven-crow hybrid. "Tada." I muttered.

"Virgil, they...they're amazing! Your wings. They're beautiful!" I blushed in embarrassment but also pride.

"R...really? I've always found them an embarrassment. Mostly because my father hoped I'd be a snake hybrid like him, his entire lineage, really. But, I wound up like this and carried on my mother's lineage instead. That being, she was part raven and part crow too. But, her wings looked indigo blue, like your tie. Mine are dark purple." I explained.

"Why are you embarrassed about them? Virgil, they're the most beautiful and exotic things I've ever seen! You are the most exotic thing I've ever seen. And I've been to Rio De Janaro before." He retorted, with a grin.

"Thanks Logan. I don't want the others to know just yet if that's alright. Besides, you're the first person I interacted with here." I said. He nodded, in understanding.

I put my hoodie back on. "Virgil, I'm sure he didn't mean to. He doesn't strike me as the type to hurt someone unless it's to protect Patton or you. He loves you very much, you know. I can tell by the way you all interact with one another." He pointed out.

"I know. I just got scared since I haven't seen him do something like that before. I overreacted, I know I did."

"No, you didn't. You just panicked, that's all."

"Thanks. For chasing me down. Shall we return to the group?" I asked, getting to my feet. He nodded and followed me back. We found everyone eating breakfast in front of the cave entrance and sat down to join them. I sat in between Logan and Roman, who had Remus on his other side. Janus and Patton were on the other side with Brandon and Miles on both sides of them. Janus looked upset. I knew he was going to apologize before he got up.
