Screams could be heard over the town. Screams of helpless people. Children crying, families being torn apart. The red glow that seemed to be mocking the blood being spilled. What was this red glow id never seen it. I've never even heard anyone mention something about the lights turning red. No one else was with me, i was locked away in the bunker i never though i would have to use. We were safe here right? I didn't know where my mom was. I wanted to hug her. I wanted her to tell me it would all be ok. My eyes got heavy as i fell asleep on the cold hard floor, with the screams outside continuing to pierce my ears.
Wednesday, day 68, year 208
I woke up to a loud crash. "The lights" i thought to myself as i opened my eyes. I Couldn't tell if last night was a dream. I pushed open the cellar doors. "Wednesday." The happy music played as if the night was not filled with horror and despair.
"Y/N i'm glad your awake, lets get you cleaned up and back to the castle" a woman with long dark brown hair and bright green eyes looked down at me. "We have a lot to talk about".
She was my mothers maid, Diana. She always had this sparkle in her eye. But something was different today.
My eyes had adjusted to the light. It wasn't a dream. The nurses had set up a ten on the east side of the town for the people injured in last nights incident. Many people young and old were in it. I Could hear crying. I started to remember the horrors i saw last night but then i thought.
"Wheres my mom?" i said looking back to Diana.
"She-" her voice cracked.
I knew immediately. Diana held me close as i cried.
"why"
