Tzuyu | POV
Tuesday wasn’t so bad. My classmates greeted both me and Jungkook as we arrived at the same time.
We started our first class, but there was this constant feeling that someone was watching me. And I already knew who it was.
When lunchtime came, things got worse.
"Sure enough, rich people are different," I overheard my classmates whispering.
Why does Haein have to serve my lunch personally? I could just buy food from the cafeteria.
He even bought a throne-like chair and a glass table for me. He wore a chef’s uniform and served me a steak. And then, he brought Jisoo, who was now wearing a maid’s dress, to serve me water and juice. Honestly, if wine was allowed in school, I wouldn’t be surprised if he brought a bottle.
Argh! I’m stuck with Haein.
---
Wednesday arrived, and it was PE class—my favorite, since I’m into physical activities. We were playing volleyball, girls vs. girls and boys vs. boys.
I took my position on the court when suddenly, a ball was bounced at me. I was about to hit it when Haein unexpectedly dove in and hit the ball. He was wearing a wig, a girl’s PE uniform, and protective gear. Of course, he’d wear something ridiculous like that.
All my classmates stopped shouting and started whispering. I could already tell they had figured out who Haein was, especially with him showing up randomly everywhere.
“N-nice receive,” I said awkwardly, and my classmates—who were probably too scared of Haein—started clapping awkwardly as well. I clapped too, but it was embarrassing.
---
Thursday came, and I was walking down the hallway when a fat guy suddenly blocked my path. He was the same guy who had tried to attack me the other day over the steak. He wanted it so badly that he just snapped and tried to take it from me. Haein was about to beat him up earlier, but I stopped him. If he keeps beating up my classmates, I’m never going to have any friends.
"Do you have time?" he asked, smiling at me while holding up a paper.
I looked at the paper, which read 'Audition for Cheerleaders.' I was about to take a closer look when Haein suddenly appeared, grabbing the fat guy by the collar.
"Princess is the treasure of our clan. Do you think you can handle the consequences if anything happens to her?" Aish, Haein’s being overprotective again. I hate this side of him. I can protect myself. He doesn’t need to be around me all the time.
"I just wanted to invite her to join the cheerleading club," the fat guy explained. "I won’t do it again," he added, panicking as Haein dropped him. The guy scrambled away, even bumping into a trashcan.
My classmates, who couldn’t resist gossiping, overheard everything and started whispering again. "I think it's not good to be around her. We might get killed."
I hate this. I really hate this. They've started to fear me so much that they think I might actually harm them.
I just kept walking, trying to ignore their whispers. This is why I never made any friends at my old school—because Haein was always there, scaring everyone away.
I’ve confronted him about this before, but he won’t listen. He says he’s doing it because I’m his only sister and the princess of our mafia clan. He claims we have too many enemies who want to kill me. He says that if I die, the clan will fall apart because I’m the heart of it. Without me, they’re all dead.
But to me, it feels like an overreaction. I’ve been kidnapped before, but I always managed to escape on my own.
If I keep getting stuck with Haein, I might never have any friends at this school.

Jungkook | POV
I watched Tzuyu walk past me in the hallway. I saw everything, and it made me feel bad for her.
I know how she feels. When I was younger, my clan used to drop me off at school. And by "my clan," I mean all of them. They’d shout their goodbyes in unison, and all my classmates would immediately start avoiding me. They’d say I came from a special family, and they’d find it scary.
I feel so bad for her. I know she wanted to live a normal teen life, like any other 17-year-old girl. But because she’s from such a special family, it seems impossible for her to have a normal school life with Haein constantly hovering over her.
---
By the afternoon, everyone had already left school. I waited by the front gate for Tzuyu, but she didn’t show up. So, I decided to check the classroom, and there she was, sitting at her desk and writing something in her notebook.
"Hirai Momo," she muttered to herself as she rubbed her ballpoint pen against her temple. "She's Mina's best friend." She wrote again, then seemed to pause, as if deep in thought. "She loves to read."
"Do you need any help?" I asked, walking over to her.
She immediately tucked everything away under her desk, hiding it.
"You want to make friends?" I smiled at her, but she just frowned and looked down at her hands.
"Just laugh if you want to laugh!" she suddenly shouted. It was the first time I’d seen Tzuyu frustrated.
I set my bag on the desk behind her, then walked over and handed her my notebook.
"Here. A friend note," I said, smiling as she glanced at it. She seemed unsure whether to accept it, but in the end, she did. "I also wrote these when I was in first grade, but not all of our classmates are in there."
She looked at me with innocent eyes, completely different from the tough Tzuyu I first met. "You and I... some ordinary things are special to others. I think special things always attract attention. I know I said a lot of bad things, but I think I understand you a little now."
We both sat in silence for a minute, just processing everything. Then, unexpectedly, she grabbed my hands.
"Are you starting to care for me? I can let you help since you made the first move." She gave me back my notes, a small smile on her face. She was back to her usual self, even acting a little cute.
"Stop acting cute," I teased, taking my notebook from her.
I sat in the chair in front of her and started explaining.
"First, Miyoui Mina and Hirai Momo. Both of them are good people, and they’re easy to be friends with."
"Really?" she asked, her face lighting up with a smile. It was rare to see her smile like that, especially since she usually seemed so gloomy and grumpy. I guess I should enjoy this rare moment of Tzuyu being kind.
