Chelsea considered Rachel her enemy, at least that's what she told herself and the people around her. The excuse she gave herself for treating Rachel like a friend was "Keep your friends close and enemies closer." But as the weeks went by she wasn't so sure Rachel was her enemy. It's true that being tall made her feel powerful and above everyone but that was just a simple way of describing it, the truth is Chelsea was always awkward and average looking so barely anyone paid attention to her, she was just the kid at the back of the classroom. That all changed in about 4th grade when she had a growth spurt and as a result was much taller than everyone in her class and for the first time people paid attention to her, sure the attention she got was in the form of insults "How's the weather up there?" was definitely the most popular. From that moment on she realized that simply being taller than everyone else made people notice her it made her different. As she got older the insults lessened and people were interested in being her friend, it made her realize that if she acted confident in her height the insults would no longer bother her and people would notice her height and try to get to know her. Sure she had plenty of fake friends but she had also had a lot of real ones. Chelsea wanted to be friends with Rachel she realized but if they were competitors how could they be friends?
