Liam's POV
When of course I got to her, she freaked. And in a way, I understood. It made sense that she did. She was now in her right mind and now, it's starting to dawn on her how crazy her decisions were.
So I left her to calm down and breathe, even for a second and I had to call V and tell him about my lovely wife.
Would you look at that, my day just started?
I speed dialed him, and he answered in the second rang.
"You better tell me where the hell you are or God so help me, Liam." He snarled.
"Do I have to hang up and call again when you have calmed down?" I asked.
"When I have calmed down? Are you hearing yourself?" He chuckled. " You claim that you have a wife, a wife we both know you don't and you-"
"I do." I interrupted him.
"Go missing," he continues, "For a whole night, not calling and you just pop up like a YouTube ad and expect me to be calm, what the hell is wrong with you?"
"I have a wife," I repeated. I don't think he heard me the first time around.
"You what?" He whispered.
"A wife, I have a wife," I repeated, entering the elevator.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I mean exactly that. A whole human married me and now calls my surname." I explained.
"Are you crazy?" He hissed.
"No, not really." I casually replied. "But you gonna have to keep this to yourself. I don't want the whole nation knowing about this." I continued.
"No kidding." I could hear his voice laced with a sense of mockery and sarcasm.
"I'm serious V, this can't get out before I tell anyone. And that alone is my job." My voice changed to a serious tone.
"Oh goodness, you not kidding about this?" He asked again.
"No, I am not. Her name is Yoenjun." I finally got downstairs and I went to a table in the middle of the room so Junie could easily recognize me.
"Oh my goodness Liam are you crazy? You can't even take care of yourself, but here you are taking a wife."
"You hurting my feelings dear brother." I held the hem of my t-shirt.
"Liam this isn't a joke. Momma was worried about you last night, dad wanted to disown you, and Alek was blamed for your behavior. I know you have done some crazy things, but this isn't it brother. I'm afraid you want too far this time around." He lowered his voice.
"Can you get least meet her?" I requested. I know I went too far this time around, but Junie couldn't pay for that. She was my wife after all, and they couldn't paint her with the same paintbrush as mine because let's face it, half the time I cause trouble, and even my parents are tired of my craze stunts.
Maybe this time if I told them that I'm settling down, they will give me space to breathe and let me be. I need that. Maybe I don't deserve it after what I put everything through, and I hope they can still find it in their hearts to forgive this messed up soul.
"I mean, you can't judge her without having seen her." I continued trying to give Junie a fighting chance.
"Fine." He sighed.
"Yes," I mumbled to myself, smiling.
"Are we meeting now?" He asked. "Because I'm already on the road and I can come where you are." He explained.
"No, no, no, don't come now. I still need to talk to Junie. She may or may not remember me." I mumbled the last part. But I think V heard me because he started to yell at me in Russian. I quickly ended the call because I wasn't about lose a team member that just boarded my plan to destruction. I need those casualties to survive the war that I just started.
I had another phone call to make. The most dangerous call of all times. Aleksandr Preobrazhensky. I could deal with dad. He was crazy, manipulative, but cool enough. I could deal with mom. She was a woman of value, but she loved me still.
And then there was Aleksandr, the big brother.
Well, he was a whole different story. He was like all the strictness that my parents weren't. But at the same time, he was the big brother that could save my ass at any given moment. But he's saving grace came at a very high price.
In all of this, although he was the most strict, he could reason with mom and dad. And henceforth way I was risking my mind, my sanity and my poor ears.
I took a deep breath, and I speed dialed him too.
"Liam Nicolai Preobrazhensky!" I immediately ended the call and I took a few breathes.
Alek scares me to an extent. And when he yells at me, it's like he triggers something from when I was a kid. When the accident happened, and when my amnesia started. Every time he yells at me it's like I see these memories of that day and it comes with anxiety attacks.
Little by little these memories come back, and the more I remember, the more I don't want too. I did something back then, something that cost my friend his life, but I don't know what it is.
And no one is willing to tell me. But these memories are telling me that I wasn't a nice person to be around with at times. And that alone disgusts me.
I'm not a whole new different person no, just less demanding and more reasonable, I hope. So after the yell episode, I counted to three to try and calm down. I found myself at twenty because three was clearly not working.
"...52,53,54..." My phone rang, startling me. I looked at the caller ID and it was Alek. I took a mini breathe, and I pressed the green answer button.
"You didn't call back." He started.
"yeah," I ran my fingers on my hair to soothe myself, "Sorry about that, I just, I needed to breathe." I finished.
"Anxiety attack?" He asked.
"One of those..." I trailed off. "Look, about yesterday.."
"Please tell me you have an actual wife." He cut me of.
The hack?!
