I hadn’t seen this watch in so long, the distorted hands and the strange design on the back. I was back in my room sitting on the bed. Examining the clock, I couldn't help but notice something. There was a sliver of paper behind the distorted hands, it fit in so perfectly with the design that it was hardly noticeable. I opened the front, and carefully took it out, I unfolded it, and read
You're 8 hours behind, the code is the time.
What’s that supposed to mean?
I flipped it over. That was it. I looked around the room, and found a virtual clock sitting on the small table next to my bed
12:30 a.m.
The code is the time.
I cautiously moved the hands to have the clock say to the time provided. Nothing. I looked again, 8 hours behind. I moved the hands so it said 4:30 instead, and something fell from the back. Another sliver of paper,
Jump from the window
What…
When I flipped this one over, there was more
I’m being serious
I flipped it over again
Jump. From. The. Window.
Hold on a second…
“And why would I jump from the window?”
I flipped it over
To escape :)
My heart skipped a beat when I read over the word escape. It couldn’t be true. I flipped it over again,
It is definitely true.
Hold on. Is it reading my mind?
I flipped it over again
Yep.
I dropped it and it landed on the other side
Ouch
I picked it up, and continuously started flipping it over and over again
Don’t you D-
It’s making me diz-
Stop
Please
…
…
…
After seeing just dots, I flipped it one last time
Having fun? Because I’m not :)
“Sorry. But do I really have to jump out the window?”
I flipped it over again.
I forgive you and yes. You do.
I grunted,
“Fine.”
The henchman who was supposed to be watching me, fell asleep. Slowly I approached him, he had a key in his pocket. Every employee did, it unlocked everything in here. Not the smartest thing if you ask me. I grabbed it, my heart thumping.
Got it.
I quickly retracted my hand with the key in my grasp. I let myself catch my breath, but I couldn’t do that for long. I heard footsteps walking up the stairs, I had to somewhat sprint to the window. I quickly picked up the piece of paper and the clock, I put it in a pocket and unlocked the window, hearing as they checked the room across from mine. My head pounded as I went through the window, and was welcomed to a cool gust of air. I looked down from the building, I lived on floor 3. I looked back up holding on to the brick wall.
