She runs meaninglessly frantic.
The whole island was already scared of her,
A monster lurking in the dark with stitches running all over her body
But she still bothers trying to hide from their sights, not wanting to horrify them.
However, she is a monster in a sense.
Your heart doesn't beat. . . You don't have one.
At least that's what she's been told by real monsters.
She stops, heaving out air after finding a spot unhindered by the street light. Not seen by the nosy fading sunlight.
She rests against a building's wall. She, truthfully, wouldn't mind nesting in the forest surrounding the town, away from people, but the forests scares her.
She knows that's where real monsters hides.
-------
The sky is curtained dark with few stars latching haphazardly. And though the night is young, no islanders are out, no stores are opened and no sounds can be heard.
It is just like what his crew said: The town seems dead.
If it weren't for the tidy buildings, He would've thought the place is deserted.
He takes slow steps wandering the city with nothing on his mind. Then, he sees the streetlights flickering, few at the same time.
It is strange.
His face sterns and he lowers his sword that he kept leaning against his shoulder.
A voice at the back of his head whispers, warning him, alerting him. There is something. Someone.
He unsheathes his sword, snapping around and pointing it at a woman's throat behind him.
Her body held up by stitches against her unnatural skin colour made him furrow, "Who- what are you?"Her unconcerned eyes made him lower his weapon. Her calmness when he could've killed her just adds his curiosity.
Rubbing her neck, she shakes off the pointy feeling the metal gave her but his cold questioning stare made her look up at him, he wants an answer, then her gaze drops to the shiny metal in his hand and she gulps. She stands up straight, one foot to the back, ready to run if things goes awry, "I'm . . .", She furrows her brows, looking everywhere as she feels guilt entering her, "Human".
The glint of his sword caught her eyes and she feels a rush, ready to run, "I wouldn't do that if I were you", He says, stopping her before she attempts.
Her realisation of his sword already sheathed makes her stay.
He stretches out his hand, and she flinches, closing her eyes as he traces a stitch that ran across her face, "You're obviously human . . .", his finger stops at her cheek and he grabs her arm.
Tracing her unnatural skin, " . . . But you're . . .", his grey eyes lands on hers that was shifting around in nervous, "so . . ."
He didn't continue, but his smile made it obvious.
She pulls her arm away from his light grasp, a glare accents her eyes, "Give me a reason as to why I have to tell you", She stiffens, remembering his sword and she sweats.
He looks like he snapped out of a trance, then he chuckles while she stares at him bewildered.
"Then", He pulls her hand to him, observing the stitches that dances across her fingers till it goes decorating her wrist,"I have to know what happen to you", he brings the strange blue skin near to his lips, and lays a kiss, "If you join my crew", his grey eyes held curiosity against hers.
Her hand freeze at the gesture and she stares at him weirdly. She harshly pulls her hand away, and as if a safety measure, her other hand encases the one he kissed.
He smirks, "if I had to guess, the town is dead because of you, right?", her reaction makes his face break into satisfaction, "coming with me is the better choice", He passes her, heading to port and after a few seconds, he hears the steps against the pavement behind him. His expression is written condescension all over.
"Your name?", She asks, albeit sounding on guard,
"Trafalgar Law, you?"
"(L/n) (y/n)"
"Welcome to the heart pirates, (y/n). Rule one is to listen to my orders."
"What else?"
"Listen to rule one", She caught his cold eyes glancing at her with slight smug, "captain's order"
