zombie breakfast guests

Well we decided to go  to the other places in three days, so we could start building the cabins and tree houses. "12 feet up in the trees that hopefully will be high enough to keep the jumpers out." Said dad. Frank and I climbed a tree and started laying the wood and nailing them down.

Honey and mom were making breakfast. We could smell it and worried that others could.  Peter, Harry and  Tom were watching for zombies and other people. In front  at the gate. Dad called them on the walkie-talkie asking if everything was going well.  Must of been in the affirmative, because  he looked relieved.

Mom called das and said breakfast is ready. We had just finished putting together the last part of the floor. The tree house was taking up 4 trees. Oh boy. Figured it would hold 10 people,  if needed. Dad was happy.

We had been eating for about 5 minutes when  Peter called dad and said zombies,  lots of them. All of us that could shoot stood up and ran with bows and arrows, guns would be too loud. We all went to different areas to defend our home.

We climbed up to the platforms for such cases. Dad built them with Peter's dad while we were out scavenging.  The jumpers were jumping trying to reach the 12 foot top of the walls.  They were about 2 feet short of the top. Dad was right.

The runners ran fast at the wall trying to topple them and became impaled  in the trench. We were safe so far. Then we heard a strange bellow from the road and saw........ oh my word, I heard Honey whimper.  Big muscular zombies were slowly coming up the road.

Their heads were all but hidden in muscle.  "Damn!" I muttered. Dad's radio squelched and the big fuckers turned in that direction. We struggled to find a good spot to shoot our arrows into their brains.  Honey shot her arrow and it hit the forehead but, .........

It kept coming.  Why didn't it fall?  Was it true about all brawn no brain?  It should have fallen the arrow was sticking out the other side of it's head! Dad looked at me and said, "Shoot with bullets see if it goes down."

I took out my silenced rifle it was a sniper. I shot straight through it's eye and  finally it went down as most of it's tiny head exploded out the back. I shot all 4 of them in the same area. The ping from my rifle was loud to me. We watched as the jumpers died by the arrows.  The slow normal zombies were dying as they walked into the trenches.

Honey was frightened  by the muscle bound freaks. I held her as she cried softly.  I never knew that there were so many  mutations out there.it was well past lunchtime now. Breakfast was ruined.

Dad decided that we needed to get more steel for our walls and  reinforce everything.  Dad wanted us safe and sound. We weren't hungry anymore after seeing the new zombies. So we went back to building the tree house.  We planned on building six of them to  ensure safety. Also we decided to make sure you couldn't see them from the ground.

Honey went and started cleaning the cabin. She always cleaned when scared or upset. I guess it soothed her! Georgia was very fragile lately and we all were worried about her. Pregnancy seems to have made her skittish.

Mom started cooking dinner. The tree house was almost done. We just needed to paint, rug, and  decorate. Didn't know how dad rigged it but he put up solar  panels for electricity.  And there seemed to be plumbing as well.  Dad's a genius when it comes to building.

They already started the foundations for 4 cabins.  Well we had a place to  hide if needed we had a seat elevator  for those that couldn't climb up a rope. Beds would need to be grabbed for the pregnant women and ill people. So they had a place to sleep.

Hopefully  the walls would keep us safe and we wouldn't need to be up here. 3 more tree houses  were definitely going to be needed.  Well at least we had a couple more days for building. I'm not sure what will happen if we don't get enough places for everyone built.

Our cabins are  crowded  right now. Glad dad buit the other two cabins before this happened. 6 cabins and too many people  seems to be the norm now. Well heck at least every family will soon have their own home soon. Just as it was getting dark  we heard motors and they were coming here.

Dad figured it was the same men from before. The creeps were back. I'm sure tired of bad news. All the women were set up in the tree house.  They stayed quite.

Finally the leader stood at the Gate with the new modification they couldn't see inside our compound. Didn't know how many people were here.the leader Figured that we only had 5 to 10 people. Boy was he in for a shock. We now had somewhere like 26 people. He brought 10 guys.

Dad asked him what he wanted.  He said our place. Try and take it we all said. I chuckled when he said that he didn't have to try. We were outnumbered  and he was going to have fun killing us. I climbed the tree that my lookout was built on. I sighted out the leader and  said leave and don't come back or die.

Well he tried to shoot dad and he went down fast. His men tried to see where the shot came from and started shooting in the trees. I took 3 more guys. I ducked down quickly. Peter took out 3 more and Frank killed 2. 2 took off and we heard them scream as zombies got them.

"People seem to be stupid now!" Exclaimed dad. Harry  asked, " Why try to take a place that you don't know if you can?"
