Synopsis:

Gintoki stared at her figure cheerfully picking out an outfit which mostly consisted of her red Chinese dresses. "Is it just me or does Kagura seem very happy these days?" It's not like he minds Kagura's newfound happiness but his eyes are burning with curiosity

Shinpachi." Gintoki eyed Kagura suspiciously.

"Yes, Gin-san?" The man in question gave a suspicious glance at the red haired heroine, who was humming lightly as she adjusted her hair accessory, which is not her usual ones. She let her red hair loose and adorn pink hairpins on either side of her head, a gift from her princess friend, Soyo.

Gintoki stared at her figure cheerfully picking out an outfit which mostly consisted of her red Chinese dresses. "Is it just me or does Kagura seem very happy these days?" It's not like he minds Kagura's newfound happiness but his eyes are burning with curiosity, to the point his iconic dead fish eye expression was nowhere to be found.

"On top of that, she's always gone out alone without walking Sadaharu." Shinpachi added, rubbing his bandaged head after walking the dog yesterday. It's been a while since he's responsible for the dog's overly biting habit. It seemed even Sadaharu himself noticed the change in his owner. He gave a tired growl in Kagura's way but the redhead didn't seem to register the dog's pleading. "Something must have happened, Gin-san. It seems she's been visiting sis to ask for makeup and dressing advice."

Gintoki's eyes widened. "Huh, that waste of a heroine is doing something girly?" He shook his head and shuddered at the thought of her playing with makeup. "Is there any beauty contest that offer a year supply of Sukonbu or something?"

"As if anyone wants to participate in such a contest except for her."

Shinpachi pondered for a while but then came to a better conclusion. "Is she seeing someone?"

Gintoki let out a giggle before he continued to a full on laughter. "Don't be ridiculous, Shinpachi. Who wants to date a gorilla like her? All she ever attracts is a half naked titan and even then look what happened, he's dating a freaking priest during their own wedding."

Shinpachi recalled the episode and just shuddered at the thought of that horrible event. "Well, I suppose that's partly my fault for pushing them both together. But we're trying to save Kagura-chan from that creep. And besides, she may not look like it but she does have the looks."

Gintoki snorted in response. "Heh, until his partner finally saw her. At this rate, I'll be grateful to have someone to feed that kid."

Shinpachi raised an eyebrow. "Then you're okay if she was dating someone?"

"Huh, who said anything about dating? I only allow her to swindle money to those unsuspecting men so she can feed herself."

"You Know That's Illegal and You'll be In Jail for Using A Minor??"

"Geez it's a joke, as if there is anyone able to handle that kid's appetite."

"What if she did have one?" Shinpachi countered.

"Then I'll take my maneuver gear."

"Gin-san, that's a different anime." Shinpachi rubbed his temple in exasperation. "Can't you behave like normal parents for once? Don't scare another potential guy again. It seems to me that whoever he is, Kagura looks happy and willing to be with him."

"Then you ask her."

Shinpachi's eyes widened. "Why would I be? You're her so-called earth dad."
