The day was pretty uneventful, partially because I was avoiding any conversation and because I was so exhausted that I couldn't pay attention to anything after sitting through lunch alone. I didn't mind it, but it was stressful noticing all eyes looking toward me. Every time I looked up, someone was staring.

After every class was over, I was assigned a room in the dormitory. There was only one empty spot in the elementary dorms since school had started a month ago. My parent's decision to send me to school here was pretty last minute.

Rozelle decided to return to the academy only because I was returning. She went into homeschooling since she didn't want me to be alone. She only got her way since she never listened to mom and dad. She was stubborn when she found something she really wanted to do. Rozelle always put a lot of value in family, and thought it was wrong that I would be the only one out of the academy. She was a great sister, but I always felt a bit distant from her.

I approached the door of my room, contemplating whether I should enter or not. I might have gotten the wrong number, room 88 was what I thought it was but I could still be wrong. I paced in front of the door thinking this through, my brain full of stress and thoughts of what if. If this is the wrong room and I go in what would happen?

As I was needlessly stressing over something that didn't matter all that much, someone opened the door. She looked at me with an expressionless face then after examining me she gave me a dry smile. "Oh, I see, that wasn't a dream." She muttered something under her breath then offered her hand to me, "I'm Vrai, nice to meet you."

I took her hand and introduce myself, "I'm Alencia, but most people call me by my middle name, Harvest."

"Nice, now please get out of my way." She said motioning with her hands for me to move. Realizing I had been blocking the door, I sidestepped to let her through. "Don't touch my things." With those last words the person I literally just met was gone down the hall.

I entered the room and looked around. On the right side of the room the walls were decorated with many sketches pinned to the wall, all of them seeming to be drawn with charcoal. I was amazed at the quality of her work. I noticed one on her desk that seemed to still be in progress. I wondered who the woman was in the drawing.

After looking at all her drawings I turned toward my side of the room. All of the things I needed were already there, my parents sent my servants to help set up my room. It all had been done and ready for about a week, during the time they were trying to convince me to attend school. I kept denying until my father decided to put his foot down.

I laid down on my bed, a feeling of relief washing over my body. "Ugh... I don't want to go to school anymore..." I complained aloud to myself.

Suddenly I heard Vrai's voice from beside me, "Then don't, nobody will force you. I hardly ever go to class."

I sat up and faced Vrai, "No, I would feel bad troubling my teachers and parents." Something about Vrai made it easy to talk to her, somehow I wasn't nervous at all.

"It's not like your the crown princess or anything. Just do whatever you want." Vrai said while plopping down on her bed. "You're one of the few people in this world that can actually do that."

"I don't want to go against my parents wishes."

"That's a good idea, they're probably trying to help you."

I asked, confused, "Help me with what?"

"You're kinda awkward." Vrai admitted, "I'm in your class, so I saw a lot of you today. You act like you never spoken to anyone in your life half the time."

"Oh..."

Vrai sat up and looked at me, "Don't worry so much about it, your weirdness makes you charming."

I laughed at her comment and replied, "Thanks, you seem pretty weird yourself."

"I know, that's why all the boys like me." She grinned.

"Do they really?"

She chuckled, "Not at all."

"Oh..."

"I'm just the orphaned daughter of a crazy woman. They prefer bullying me over anything else."

"Really! Why would people bully you!" I exclaimed, sitting up on my bed, "You're so AWESOME!" Realizing I said that I little too passionately, I laid back down turning away to hide my blush.

"Hehehe, don't be shy," She giggled.

"But that's my only defining characteristic." I mumbled.

She laughed again then said with a sigh, "The shy and awkward princess..."

"Are you laughing at me?" I asked, confused at what she meant by that.

"Not at all." She answered, "I'm laughing because I don't think that's accurate. I think you are more like a little orange haired kitten."

"I never seen a kitten before..."

"You're shy, but around people you're comfortable with your able to open up and show the real you. A kind and loving princess."

The blush I already had intensified, I felt embarrassed that this conversation was all on me t this point. I didn't even notice that the subject changed a while ago. "Let's just go to sleep..." I muttered.

"Alright, goodnight my friend."

I smiled at the thought of having a new friend. Though I was glad to have a someone to talk, that didn't change the fact that I accidentally said so many embarrassing things that day, I probably wasn't going to get any sleep at all.
