There was a day in age where the Kings did not have to paint the land with blood to own it.
The time of King Cosque was an easier time to be a king. Many lands were not owned by anyone, all the king must do is build upon it, and it shall be his.
However, there are things are as true now as it was true back then--greed.
With the king had conquered all the land he has laid eyes on, by build or by blood, he still craves for more.
So, he decided to send out men to find more lands across the seas.
And the town crier went...

King Cosque, The Great hath proclaimed that 100 sailors will voyage across the seas to search for land!"
"But haven't we got more land to fill thrice our people!" said a sailor.
"There is no more land! The [pacific] is nothing but endless water" said another.
"The King will raise your taxes 10 fold if you decline this honor." continued the town crier.
As hesitant as they were, the sailors had no choice but to sail the pacific.
