December 2046
Joaquin's POV:
I searched around for Christmas gifts. I was currently in my mom's bedroom. Mom's side was neat. Mama's side was not.
They're very different I don't get how it works.
I looked in the drawers and found something.
"Enzo?" I ran out to the room with the picture. "What is this?"
"It's an ultrasound." He said. "I don't think it's for any of us." He looked. "Might be Maxi."
"Kids what do you want for dinne-" Mama stopped. "What is that?"
"Uh." I looked at Enzo. "I found it?"
"Found it where." She walked over and took it.
"In mom's drawer."
"Why were you looking in mom's drawer?" She sighed. "Stop looking for Christmas presents you little shit!" She looked at the picture.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Better question is who?" Enzo asked.
Mom walked in. "What's going on in here?"
Mama held up the picture. "He found it." She said. Mom looked down. "Boys sit down." She sighed. We all sat at the table. "Before Maxi was born, we tried to have a baby." She said. "This baby." She touched the picture.
"We were so excited." Mom smiled. "But sometimes things don't work out. We unfortunately never got to meet your brother or sister. All we have of them is this picture." She looked at us. "I believed we'd never have a family of our own. I watched Mapi and Mariana raise Gabriel. But we just had that heartbreak. Mama told me we'd have our baby one day. And then Maxi was born." She smiled. "Now we have three children. Who we love very much."
"I'm sorry mom." I looked down.
"I'm kind of happy you were looking for gifts. I think it's good that you know. Life is gonna throw everything at you. To try to break you down. Just look at all Mariana's been through. But you have to remember that no matter how tough it is, you can overcome it. By leaning on those who love you. One day you'll find those special people who make your hearts explode." She laughed. "But we'll always be the ones who loved you from day one."
Luna's POV:
I looked at Jimena. "You have your thinking face." She smiled. "What's on your mind?"
"How I'm a few months away from 30."
She laughed. "That's what you're stressing about over there?" She walked towards me. "30 is nothing. I turned 30 last year."
"And you're so hot." I put my head on her shoulder. "But I'm a lawyer. The stress is gonna build up. I'll look 50 at 30."
"You're 29 right now, babe and you still look 24." She said. "Relax. You should take a vacation." She gasped. "We should take a vacation!"
"Where do you wanna go?"
"Well, first we have to go to Italy to see your parents for the holidays." I nodded. "Then after where do you wanna go?"
"Can we go to France? I kind of miss my uncle." I smiled. "And he has two houses, we could stay in one."
