They say time's supposed to heal a broken heart...they never specified as to how long it would take. Sometimes it takes weeks; sometimes it takes months; sometimes it takes years...quite often, it takes a lifetime to get over a breakup. Especially if it's "the one who got away".
Everyone poked fun at Brendon if they didn't scold him for falling in love too young and getting hurt. Though, most of his friends and family members have told him the same thing he got tired of hearing, quickly.
"You've never been in love, before. You're too young to understand what love is." Brendon was only twenty-three years old, but that didn't mean he didn't understand the concept of love and he knew the big difference between fucking someone and loving someone. He was seventeen when he first fell in love...Ryan Ross. It didn't last obviously, but it was like a fairytale with a bittersweet ending.
After some time passed, Brendon eventually met Dallon. He was tall, handsome, and he had a smile that could brighten the room; make everyone else around him smile...Brendon instantly fell in love. That was always his biggest flaw—falling in love, getting attached...it always happened way too quickly.
Brendon was in love, whereas Dallon wasn't...what Dallon had with Brendon was temporary; a fling. At first it was hot and heavy, then it was sweet and romantic...but then Brendon became rather clingy. Dallon felt like he was suffocating and he wasn't gentle about breaking it off with him...telling him it wasn't anything serious. Brendon felt so stupid and he swore to himself that he'd never get so attached to another person for as long as he lived. At that point, he contemplated becoming a priest; a server of God, purify himself and pray for the lost; prayer for the wicked; pray for the broken; pray for the beaten; pray for the damned.
No longer wanting to feel like a sad, mopey, depressed loser—Brendon wanted to prove not only to Dallon, but to himself that he could make it on his own.
That he could have an adventurous and fun life without him...though Brendon wasn't much of loner—curse his Aries sign for being so outgoing and an extrovert. He had to try, though.
Its been a while since Brendon has done anything on his own; he was used to doing everything with Dallon...he was like a puppy dog—stayed close and wouldn't do anything with his friends...not even his own family, only if Dallon was there by his side. He very much regretted that, now.Not wanting to bother anyone since Brendon was convinced that everyone was mad at him because he pretty much turned his back on those closest to him...all because he was stupid in love with someone who he thought felt the same way—he wanted to numb away the aching and unbearable pain he felt all over his body with whatever he could get his hands on...since Brendon wanted to have fun and drown his sorrows with something strong, hard, and maybe even a little fruity.
Finding the nearest bar, Brendon dressed himself casually; sky blue, short-sleeve, button-up shirt, a dark grey hoodie over it, tight fitting denim jeans, black leather belt, and matching dark grey vans.Once he entered the bar, he walked past the decent sized crowd and headed straight to the bar. Sitting himself down on one of the barstools, Brendon decided to start the night off with a Long Island iced tea.
"You got ID?" The bartender asked Brendon, raising an eyebrow over at him. He knew she was just doing her job, but she didn't need to be bitchy about it. Forcing a smile, he fished around for his wallet in the pocket of his jeans—pulled out his ID and gave it to the bartender who examined it more than once as she practically eye fucked Brendon.
"Okay honey, you're of legal age to drink. Long Island iced tea, right?" Brendon nodded his head in response as he slid his ID back into his wallet and shoved the wallet back into the pocket of his jeans as he waited for his drink.
