"Hello, this is video log 402. I am Dr. Neab Carter, this is the 208th test of the DBND prototype. Okay now let's get started, so DBND or in other words DNA-Based Nano Device, is a project that I am working on, hehe probably for my whole life now. I am 24 years old now and I started this project when I was 12.
So to briefly explain DBND, I have designed it to target specific genetic sequences. That one Nanoparticle of DNA it can be, er... A drop of blood, one buccal cell from a cheek swab test, a hair, or even a few specs of dandruff, inserted in DBND can help in locating the subject with a similar DNA pattern.
Yes, it may show multiple results of many subjects of the same DNA but along with that the software I'm working on can also provide the whole database of that subject.
If you ask why I have invented such a device? Well... Think about it all you need is one hair from a most wanted criminal and the DBND can provide the exact location and the whole database of the criminal. Cool isn't it, hehe, anyhow, let's get to the testing part. I would use my DNA just to see if the DBND can track and locate someone of my own.''
The scientist pricked his finger and a droplet of crimson red gushed out of his skin, he placed it on top of the cylinder-shaped device which had glass on the outside, followed by a hollow and then light blue light glowing from inside. The device was the size of a coke can but looked very delicate. As soon as the drop of blood touched what looked like a touch screen, the blue light on the inside flickered and the laptop screen which was connected to the DBND started displaying loads of data, one window showed codes scrolling down, one switched mugshots of people per every millisecond, the other one had a red box scanning the earth. One minute passed, two minutes passed. The flickering of blue light stopped and the screen started glitching. That's when the handsome scientist with specs on realized that this test was also a failure.
Dr. Neab ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, soon the lights in the laboratory started flickering, the scientist understood that was because of the DBND, if he didn't pull the plug in the next 20 seconds the risk was that the power of the whole building would go out. Neab ran back and forth, not knowing which device to turn off first, the DBND or the laptop, by the time he came to a conclusion, the 20 seconds were out and with a burst and loud bang the lights in his laboratory blasted and embers of fire fell from the ceiling and all the good looking scientist could do was get under a table to save his head from the raining fire.
He knew that the whole building's power was out and he was the one to be blamed, soon the door was kicked open and a middle-aged man who looked sophisticated, mean, and bold walked in with at least five bodyguards.
"What the hell is happening here?" The middle-aged man asked
"A test run failed and caused it," Neab said while he slowly came out from under the table and looked down.
" Dr. Carter, don't tell me you are still working on that tracking device"
" I...umm, yes sir, it is the tracking device I was trying to test"
" How many times have I told you to not fidget with that thing, it's useless and it's a failure, you have hundreds of projects to work on yet you still choose to not give up on that wretched device, what? Has it been 200 trials up to now?"
" 208"
" Whatever, it's just not going to work, even you happen to make it work you can't find the one you are looking for"
" But dad..."
" Dr. Carter" Dad's voice beamed and Neab put his head back down.
" I am not paying you to waste your time on useless tracking devices, I want you to fix this mess, by that I mean you will personally go to the basement and fix the generator and turn the power back on, do I make myself clear?"
