Out of nowhere, rain poured down.
I laid my eyes on the large figure that came out from the bushes. It was a large crocodile, with two giant horns on its head. Its other features included huge claws, as well as a massive underjaw. It had a murky, swamp-like appearance, as expected of a crocodile. What's more disgusting though, is the fact that it was standing on two legs. While I was busy giving a detailed description of the creature in my thoughts, the monster raised its hand, possibly preparing to strike.
I lately took notice but managed to back off with my completely average physical capabilities. However, it managed to graze my cheek and left quite the cut.
Blood dripped from my cheek. Its claws are without a doubt, sharp. Is that perhaps its main attacking move? If so, that would be extremely lucky on my part, as I don't think the creature can match my speed.
I gazed back at the crocodile and was confused.
Why is it raising its hand again? I'm outside of its attacking range, there's no way it could reach so f-
A wave of muddy water was produced as the creature flailed its hand in a horizontal strike. I immediately reacted and leaped to hang on one of the branches of the nearby trees.
Unfortunately, my hand wasn't able to reach, resulting in my falling back to the ground. My current body is incapable of the movements my mind simulates, causing this battle of physicality, a disadvantage on my part.
I was swept away by the muddy wave caused by the creature and was shocked by its fast current. With this, my body was rapidly propelled in the rain, ultimately leading to my crash on a nearby tree; causing me to cough up blood.
"Kuagh."
No way...there's no way I could get out of this alive. That thing can use its inhumane physical attacks, as well as its weird magical wave attack. I wouldn't be surprised if it had another trick up its sleeve.
"..."
Wait, magic? How can it use magic? Is that the standard for the beings of this world? In any case, this lit up an idea.
I could use magic to at least fend it off. I wouldn't be able to kill it, let alone damage it. So, I'll simply use anything I can to back it off as I run back to Lady Shirona's house.
But there's one problem though, I haven't managed to conjure even a single spell during my training. Damn it! Even in this hopeless situation?
I heard the sound of water rushing to me at a fast pace. I immediately knew it was a repeat of the attack I received. I knew it was coming, yet my legs failed to stand up.
I was hit another critical blow, shattering some of the bones on my ribcage.
"Agh!"
If this continues, I'll be dead in two more hits. I need to chant at least one spell successfully. No, I will, if I want to live.
I saw the image of the beast slowly walking towards me, causing me to laugh hysterically like a psychopath.
"Hahaha, fine! I'll pulverize you till' you mix with the soil."
Possibly out of instinct, or perhaps desperation, I managed to successfully construct the runes of Ember. As well as felt my mana being drained from me. I waited for the creature to come close to me.
Shortly after, it appeared before me with its frightening image and fired off one more of its muddy water. Naturally, it hit me, but I remained focused. I was on the brink of dying, but I won't allow myself to be defeated so easily.
