Cake

(Y/N) tries to calm herself down as she calls out to her little self.

(Y/N): Are- are you-

???: Are you okay?!

Suddenly someone passes through her as if (Y/N) was a ghost. She stands there in shock as she sees the little girl approach little (Y/N).

???: (hugs little (Y/N)) It's okay (Y/N) I'll protect you.

Little (Y/N): (wipes her tears) Why?!

???: Because we promise to be best friends forever!

Little (Y/N) hugs the little girl as she cries on her shoulder.

(Y/N): Who is she? For some reason, I can't seem to remember her face...

Who are you?

(Y/N) suddenly wakes up from a bed.

(Y/N): (confused) Was that a...dream?

She looks around to see that she's in the nursery. When she feels something grip on the sheets. She looks down to see Ruby resting her head on the bed as she sleeps.

(Y/N): Why is she here?

Ruby begins opening her eyes as she stands up on the chair.

Ruby: (sleepy) Oh, hi (Y/N)...

She looks around before she turns to (Y/N) quickly with wide eyes.

Ruby: Wait (Y/N)?!

Ruby tackles her in a hug as the door from the nursery opens revealing the rest of team RWBY and Velvet.

Weiss: You're awake?!

Ruby lets go of you as the others quickly make their way to you.

Yang: Hey, I heard what happened you saved Velvet!

Blake: How are you even alive?!

Weiss: Guys be quiet she just woke up she doesn't need to be overwhelmed with questions!

Blake: You're right...are you feeling okay?

(Y/N): I guess...

Velvet sits on a chair next to you as she is seen with a box.

Velvet: Um, I wanted to apologize for causing so much trouble...

(Y/N): It really is no trouble I would have done that for anyone.

Velvet: Well I- I baked you a cake.

(Y/N): Uh?

Velvet opens the box to reveal a red velvet cake. (Y/N) looks at it for a moment.

(Y/N): You really didn't have to Velvet...wait...what are you doing here aren't you supposed to be on a mission?

Velvet: Ah, well our mission finished earlier...I really don't want to talk about it...

Yang: Hey, are you sure you're okay...?

Yang pats (Y/N) on the head as she seems tenses up but then relaxes to her touch. She grabs Yang's hand to keep it on top of her head as Yang blushes and looks the other way.

Yang: So cute...

(Y/N): I'm okay...

She lets go of Yang's hand as she looks at all of them.
