Goodbye Son

Chapter One

"Goodbye Son" She said to her son as he walked out the door for his first day of high school. As a mom, she wanted the best for her son and hopefully he doesn't get bullied. Mellie sat down with her cup of tea and some biscuits while watching the new TV show, "Angela White". Obviously it wouldn't be some sort of a thing a kid would be intrested in, they probably wouldn't even understand it. She took the first sip of her tea then dipped her biscuit in it. A peice of the biscuit fell into her cup. "For gods sake!" Mellie moaned while dipping her fingers into the burning hot tea trying to retrieve the broken cookie. In the end, she ended up never finding the biscuit and burning her fingers. She got them red to the point they looked like tomatoes, Mellie ran to the sink and put her fingers under the cold water. "That was silly of me."She thought "I'll never do that again." All day long she was bored until the clocked strikes at three o clock. Finnaly, time for her son to come home!She made a quick ham sandwich and a glass of water to give to him when he came back. Suddenly, the front door flew open and she heard the biggest "MOM" in her life. He ran into the room with his bag full of stuff and sweat dripping all over his face. "Whats wrong honey?!" She said, wiping his face with tissue. "The school warned us about these new school shooters, they've attacked 27 schools already!"he said, panicking. "That's terrible."Mellie said "well, it's not near here.. right Joe?". Joe caught his breath then said "of course it's around here!why would they warn us about it otherwise?!" Mellie got a bit nervous at this point. She was considering keeping him off school while the school shooters were
attacking, then send him back after. "Just go to your room,I'll sort this."She said. Joe ran upto his room while Mellie turned on the computer, she searched "new school shooter in Sheffield." Lots of news reports came up. "The Skull Crashers are back at it again with the school shootings in Sheffield. Stay safe this Halloween everybody!" Said a news report. Mellie knew Joe needed his education, so the next day she sent him back to school. What a mistake she made that day...
