"Hey, bud can you get a thing-a-ma-jigger?" Ed asked his son.

"YES, I CAN!" and the energetic boy yelled running to the northern part of the junkyard he loved. He put on his leather gloves and started looking around.

He gasped then frowned, "This is a magne-phober. Not a thing-a-ma-jogger..."

Go to the yellow truck to your left, there's one in the box.

He turned around in a circle trying to find the owner of the voice, but found no one. He then scooted over to the yellow trunk and dug around til he found 2 boxes.

The maroon one.
The boy frowned, confused of what maroon was.
The dark red one Jay.
He then opened the box and found it. He was pleased but then turned around looking for the speaker.

"Hello?" called out Jay, "Um...Thank you for your help!"

No problem, young stormling. Now bring it to your papa as he had requested.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" He asked.

Well for one you don't need to speak out loud speak in your head, second I don't have a name.

So can I give you name?
If you'd like.
I'm naming you Storm.
That seems suitable.

Can my Dad hear you too!?
No. No one else can but you. That's why you're special, only you can hear me.
Oh okay.

Jay made his way to his dad, "Well where is the little guy, I came with a birthday gift for when he turns 9 tomorrow!"

"Auntie Clara!" Jay cried running to her. "Here's the thing-a-ma-jigger Dad!"

"Thanks, champ! And you found it just in time for me to finish this for your auntie Clary."

"Really! Thank you, Ed I really appreciate it, that'll help a ton. Now Jay," she said turning to him, his eyes full of wonder. "I can't be here tomorrow to celebrate your birthday with your ma and pa so I decided to come early this year with your present."

Jay was practically vibrating with excitement and anticipation. "What is it! Can I have it now while you're here!? Is it from your adventures! Is it a new Cliff Gordan movie? Will it help with my proje-"

"Calm it, kid! It's actually a journal," she said handing it to him.
He frowned at the empty book, "It's empty, what am I supposed to do with this."

"Journals and books are important! You wouldn't be able to do the things you do with your ma and pa if someone's findings or instructions weren't written down, books hold knowledge of the past and what is expected of the future. Always read books, and write down the most important parts of your life in this book, okay?"

The light, energy, and excitement had come back to Jay, "Why this book?"
"Because, it's special, this one is infinite and has a special magic to protect it!"

Jay stared at the book with amazement. And hugged it to his chest, "I'LL PROTECT IT WITH MY LIFE!"
"I know you will," she said ruffling his hair making him puff his chest out.

"Well, I need to get going. See you later."
"Wait where you going," Jay asked.

"To see a boy your age and then go on my next adventure," She replied tapping his nose and then strapped the box with the machine Ed had just finished to her motorbike and drove off.

-_^=*=^_-

Jay opened his eyes, and he started to breathe heavily. He squeezed his sheets and tried to do some calm breathing exercises. When his breathing was finally even he got up and when to the bathroom, put his hands on each side of the sink, he had to calm himself down once more.

He finally looked himself in the mirror, his eyes were red with irritation, the sides of his face tear-stained. He turned the faucet on cold water running down into his hands. He splashed his face and rubbed his eyes turning off the sink. He then down sank to the floor in little light, a small shiver went down his spine. He looked up to see the window cracked open.

He sighed, getting up to close it-

Hey.

Jay sucked in a breath. No, no, no, no, n-

Oh calm down, it's not like you didn't want me here. You wouldn't have summoned me if you hadn't wanted to talk again!

What!? Summon!? No this isn't what he wanted, he would never summon something that he didn't understand! Nothing that he was scared of!

Jay, you did summon me, you're scared, feel alone. You don't understand what's going on, then or now.

You don't know me! You never did, I don't want you here and if I really did summon you then I wish you to leave!

Silence.

Wow, I really thought that would work, your words seem to be useless. But you're the one who sent me away a few years ago.

No, you left! I finally had someone other than my parents, people, I could finally talk to. My age even! And you disappeared.

No, you didn't want to hear me anymore, talk to me, you didn't care. So you sent me away.

Did you talk to her too?

Who?

Don't play with me. Clary Storm, my mother.

Ahhhh. Yes, I did. She didn't like to directly respond to me. Tho she wasn't the brightest, that part is what you got from Ed and Edna, mostly from being raised.

And what about it? Jay shut the window asking. But there was no answer.
Oh, screw you bitch. Playing with me, hope you shut up forever.

Jay went back to bed, it wasn't easy but he fell back to sleep.
