Lafayette POV

I basically just told Maria that I liked her. I've wanted to tell her for a while but I wasn't sure if she liked me back and I didn't want to make things awkward. I knew she would find it somehow but I didn't think it would be like this. I knew Alex got the note. I just wasn't sure how it ended in Marias bag. Maybe Alex set this up. He knew how nervous I was. Sometimes in life you just gotta go for it. I sat there waiting for Maria's reply, when I felt the grip on our hands tighten as she kissed me. She was tense and I could feel it, so i relaxed into the kiss and she did it. It felt like we were kissing for hours but it was only a few seconds before we were interrupted by Mr. Washington. He came to check up on us since we were in first class alone, but we didn't really need any checking up on.

Mr. Washington POV

I thought I better go check up on Maria and Lafayette because I let them go together into first class. Everyone could tell there was tension between the two, so I made them go and sit together hoping by the end something would come from it. I walked into the first class section and told the flight attendants who I was looking for and they showed me straight to their seats. I don't think that now was the best time for me to check on them but I'm glad my pan worked. I stood a few rows back watching them waiting for them to do something else when other people in first class thought I was watching them in a creepy way. They broke apart after a few seconds and turned their heads towards my direction and looked at me with disgust. I waved to them and I could tell that they were annoyed with me. I nodded at them both then walked off back to the other students. I sat back down when John, Peggy and Eliza all came bouncing over to me.

"Sirrrrrrrrrrrr." John said standing behind me.

"Yes Mr. Laurens?" I said, turning my head in reply. All three of them looked at me with puppy eyes. "What do you three want now?" I rolled my eyes turning back to my book.

"Well...... What happened between Maria and Lafayette!?" Peggy jumped in excitement.

"Clam down Pegs." John tried to stop Peggy from causing a fuss but it didn't work that well.

"You guys are way too excited about this. Where's the other Miss Schuyler?" I questioned. Eliza turned to face Angelica sitting with Herc and Aaron playing a card game.

"She cares...... I think?" Eliza mumbled. "Anyways, so what happened with them both!" She continued.

"Well I did walk in on them......" I started to say but I got cut off by Peggy and Eliza squealing. John tried to contain their excitement but nothing worked. We got glares from people sitting around us, but no one really cared.

"So they're finally together?" Alex said, walking up the aisle. Eliza continued to giggle while Alex wrapped her in a hug to try and get her to stop bouncing.

"I don't know for sure but they were kissing." I said looking back up at the four of them. "Please just don't push them into something they might not want to go into." Peggy sighed as I said that. "I know how much you want these Pegs but you can't force something that isn't meant to be." I rarely called my students by their first names or nicknames but when I did they knew they were one of my favorites.

"I just want Maria to be happy. She always looks so sad." Peggy mumbled. John just wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"She will be happy Pegs." John said, trying to comfort her. I turned back and started reading my book. The four all went back to their seats and started texting each other about Maria and Lafayette.
