Borderland - in a writing slump currently

Empty

I raise my hand as I can't bear to be in this classroom any longer.
"yes Y/N?" asks my history teacher.
"can I go to the bathroom please" I ask.
my teacher sighs and rolls his eyes "be quick."
trying to conceal my grin, I get out of my seat and head out the door.

when I get to the bathroom to my surprise, well not really, I see my best friend Sara, leaning against the sink and on her phone.
"Surprised to see you here" I say sarcastically.
Sara smiles guiltily at me.
"you know me Y/N, I'll do anything to get out of class"
I start laughing when suddenly the lights go out.
"that's strange" Sara says
"Probably just a power outage, I'll go check" I say uncertainly
I head towards the door cautiously and open it slowly.
The corridors lights are out and the classrooms in sight don't seem to have any light coming from them.
Definitely a power outage, but something seems off.
"I'm gonna head back to class now Sara"
"Yeah I probably should too"
"See you later" I say as you both walk in opposite directions to your classrooms

I open the classroom door.
To my surprise, the classroom is completely empty. But even more to my surprise, everyone left their stuff behind.
I make my way to the next classroom to see if anyone is there.
Again, no ones there.
I'm about to go try find Sara when I hear her call my name
"Y/N!"
"Sara! is there anyone in your classroom."
"I was just about to ask you that, but no, there's no one. But everyone has left there stuff behind"
"Same here. Should we go check outside and see if it was a evacuation?"
"Yeah... but if it was an evacuation drill, surely there would have been an alarm or something right?"
I shrug as we walk towards the schools exit.
I push open the door and i step outside.
Tokyo is empty.
