Episode 10: Indestructible Henry, Part 1

~Downtown Swellview~

A few weeks after Christmas, Captain Man and Kid Danger were called out to a clock shop, where there had been a report of an ominous beeping sound echoing in the store. It didn't take a genius to work out that there was something pretty dangerous counting down to an explosion.

"Hi, we're here," Henry announced as he and Ray burst into the shop.

"Especially me." Ray bragged. His mood had been on cloud nine ever since he had shared his first kiss with (y/n). It wasn't how he'd thought a kiss between them would come about, but it had sparked a desire in him to make her his in every way. He had been dreaming about her lips for weeks and the sexual tension between them was hotter than ever.

"Oh, Captain Man and Kid Danger, I'm so glad to see you! We're so scared!" A woman in a pretty pink dress exclaimed, her fear alleviating slightly now she had two superheroes on the scene.

"I'm Jafoon!" The man with long, silky, black hair next to her introduced himself.

"Well, hi, Jafoon. I'm Captain Man, this is my sidekick, Kid Danger." Ray replied politely, their lackadaisical pleasantries stressing Henry out because there was a bomb somewhere in the shop.

"Can we please meet Jafoon later?!" He asked Ray hysterically.

"Right." The large man nodded as Henry went to talk to the woman whilst Ray had a quick look around the room.

"What's the emergency?" The boy asked the storekeepers, who were shaking from fear.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Ray added, not seeing any immediate threats. However, something felt off, he just knew it.

"Okay. Uh, I was here, uh, working with Jafoon--" The woman started to explain, but the panicking man interrupted her.

"I'm Jafoon!" He exclaimed, despite everyone knowing who he was.

"And I got a phone call from some weirdo, who said there was a C5 disruptor in my store." The woman explained quickly, her information making Ray pale in worry.

"A C5 disruptor?" He reiterated, wanting to make sure he had heard her correctly.

"Is that bad?" The woman asked nervously.

"Well, on a scale of C1 to C10, it's about a five," Henry told her, which didn't help her confusion or concern.

"What's that mean?" She asked again, her face screwed up from distress.

"That it could destroy this entire store," Ray said gravely, causing the woman and Jafoon to scream.

"Kid Danger, call the police." Captain Man instructed his sidekick, who obediently did as he was told since time was of the essence.

"Ma'am, you and Jafoon have got to get out of here!" Ray told the terrified store owners as the beeping started to get louder.

"I'm Jafoon!" The guy said for the hundredth time, irritating the boy on the phone.

"We know." He stated, not wanting to hear the phrase "I'm Jafoon!" again.

"Come on!" The woman dragged her colleague out of the store, as per Ray's directions. She didn't want herself or Jafoon to be blown to smithereens.

"Did you get the police?" Ray asked Henry, who was still trying to get through.

"Nah, it went to voicemail." The kid reported in confusion. Since when did the police not pick up the phone.

"Ah! Hang up!" Ray said in frustration. He knew that Swellview's police were useless and that they were wasting precious seconds by trying to get hold of them. Henry put his phone down on a counter as a deafening noise pierced his eardrums.
