It was Halloween. Muggles were going from one house to other for Trick and Treat. Voldemort apparated into Godric's Hollow and looked around. He sneered at plebian muggle customs. He had always wanted to bring back the old ways so that they could celebrate Samhain instead of Halloween. He had never liked the day. Other children at the orphanage had been cruel but more so on this day because the superstitions attached to day.
Soft footfalls were heard as the Dark Lord walked towards his next victim. He never killed children. But his goal was more important that a mere child’s life and he could not let all of hard work go in vain. Peter Pettigew walked behind his master, cowering.
Voldemort ignored the cowardly fool and walked forward. He looked towards the house which he was going to.
James Potter was playing with his daughter as Lily Potter looked on. He stretched his hand to open the iron gate but suddenly he felt as if he was being watched. He turned around to check but no one was around. ‘I am just being paranoid.’ He thought. He pushed open the gate. The noise disturbed the peace of the family in the house.
“Run Lily. Take Lilith and run. I will stop him.” James Potter shouted. Lily Potter grabbed her daughter and ran upstairs.  “And how do you expect to stop me without a wand, James Potter?” asked the Dark Lord. “Wrestle me to death?” he again taunted.
“Say your last words Potter. Avada Kedavra.” Green light rushed towards the famed auror and Lord Potter breathed his last. Voldemort strode forward and said “ Pity you did not join me. At least you would have remained alive.”
He climbed the stairs. Lily Potter, it seems had barricaded the door. How on did she think would it stop him?
“Bombarda" he said and the door was blown to smithereens. There, in front of the child’s crib the acclaimed mudblood sat, muttering Salazar knew what.
As soon as the door burst open she turned to the Dark Lord and said -" Not my daughter please. Take me instead. Please.” But the dark lord told her to stand aside. But how could a mother leave her child to die. She persistently asked the Dark Lord. Now, he may have been honourable and tried to keep his word to his precious death eater but he had never been known for his patience and so said-"Avada Kedavra”
He sneered at the body and said-" Foolish girl. Could have left but no.”
He then turned his fabled yew and phoenix wand towards the child of the prophecy. The child looked at him without fear with eyes the colour of the spell that had taken the life of her parents and would soon kill her. The Dark Lord sighed and crouched in front of the girl and kissed her forehead. He said -" I don’t usually act in such a manner but your magic is pulling me to you. I wish I could have let you live but my work cannot go in vain. For magic to be saved I need to succeed and so you will have to die. You will be the first death that I shall regret.”
He stood and pointed his wand against her. The child just smiled at him. He closed his eyes and said the killing curse as if saying a prayer.
The green light hurtled towards the child but a protective layer of magic formed around her and the curse rebounded. The Dark Lord not expecting such a thing to happen, could not move out of the way of the rebounding spell in time and it hit him squarely in his chest. He screamed and his soul left his body. A small part of his soul broke down and entered the child sitting there. His body disintegrated. His wand fell with a clatter.
His remaining soul was banished with great force and it was a long time before it came to a stop.
Outside, as soon as Pettigew heard his master’s scream started to rush towards the house. But before he could enter it he was seized and knocked out by a shadow.
Another shadow appeared and started walking towards the house. The person appeared to gliding on ground. It went upstairs. To the room where The Dark Lord was vanquished. The child was crying aloud. The figure bent in front of her and whispered “Everything will be alright. I will make sure of it.” It kissed the child on her forehead. She bent to pick the fallen wand. She used it to spell some monitoring wards on the child that no one would be able to find and left the room. As soon as she came down, many other cloak clad figures came in front of her. “You all know what to do. Go.” Everyone left. Just the leader wss left along with one more person.
Covered from head to toe in black cloak, only the face of the leader was visible. Red bloody lips made it look bloodthirsty but it was the eyes that were terrifying. Avada green shined on the pale angular face. Dark Lady Morgana had arrived to change her fate.
