Behind the Mask [Niam]

Chapter 2

Niall sat on the sofa in some sweats and and a t-shirt, waiting for Liam. He sat there thinking about Batman. 'I wonder what that grin was about.. Maybe.. Oh gosh, maybe he likes me back! Oh bo-' He jumped two feet high when the door bell went off. He walked up to the door and opened it, and his heart started to beat faster. 'Come on Niall, calm down.' "Hey Liam."

Liam smiled at Niall, "Hey Ni, so what movie are we gunna watch tonight?" He watch Niall walk into the kitchen and he followed. "I was thinking something like.... Actiony? If that's a word" He laughed, "No it's not, But we are One Direction, so we can put it in our dictionary of funny words." Niall smiled and grabbed two bags of crisps. They sat on the couch and debated on what movie.

Niall; "How about Superman?"

Laim; "Nah... Ironman?"

Niall; "BOOORRRIIINNGGGG..."

Liam; "How about Finding Nemo?"

Niall vigorusly shook his head. "YEESSSSS!!!" Liam thought to himself, 'God if this boy could get and cuter-' He widened his eyes, "Liam... Are you alright?" He looked at Niall and nodded his head. "Um... Yeah, let's, uh... let's watch the movie." He stood up and put the disk in ,pushing the play button.

Niall snuggled himself into Liam's side and opened a bag of crisps, eating them as the movie went on. Liam payed no mind to the movie, his thoughts were else where. 'I like Robin, not Niall... Remember Liam. That sweet sidekick of yours is the cutest lad you know.' Another voice argued with him in his head. (A/N the italics is Liam and the bold is the arguing thoughts.)

'Yeah, but you like Niall.'

'But that's wrong, I can't like two guy's.'

'Then choose Liam, because Niall is showing signs that he likes you.'

'I know... but it just hard because...'

'Because WHAT Liam?!'

'I....I don't know.'

'Maybe you should meet with Robin, and tell him your feelings..'

'Maybe I will..'

Niall looked up at Liam with a confused look, he knew there was something wrong with the brown-eyed lad. He had no idea of the internal argument going on Liam's head. 'I should just tell him, maybe he will take it well?' Niall shook his head making the thought go away. "Hey, Ni, I'm gunna go back to my flat.. I'm tired." He gave a sad sigh, "Ok, see you later Li." He watched as the boy he secretly loved walked down the path to his car and drive home. Niall closed the door and sighed once again. He walked to the bathroom and looked in that mirror at the coward looking back. "Come on Niall.. Grow a pair, either tell Batman or Liam."

~ At a hidden location AKA Bat cave ~

Liam paced back and forth in cave the for an hour in his bat suit contemplating whether to call his beautiful blue-eyed sidekick. He took out the emergency cell phone and typed a message.

'Meet me in the Bat cave. ASAP.' He waited for a response for what felt like ages. BE-BEEP BEEP BEEP! He looked down at the phone and read the message. 'Sure thing, be there right away.' He put the phone in one of the pockets in his utility belt. He then sat in the chair in front of the huge computer screen and waited.

The wind blew through Niall's platinum blonde hair as he drove on his crimson red sleek motorcycle. He slowed down knowing he came to the secret door. Hitting a button on the machine, he went through and opening for the cave. He parked next to Batman's dark as knight Bat car and walked through a few halls to find Batman. Opening the door, he walked into the room filled with complicated gadgets and computers. "Batman?" He asked walking toward the chair with it's back to him. He walked over to it and turned it around to see it empty.

Liam silently watched from the metal beam he was perched on, wanting to test Robin. He saw him walking and to the chair. Then, Liam jumped down as quietly as possible right behind him. He went to grab Robin's shoulders to throw him but was caught off guard when Robin grabbed his arm and flipped him over his shoulder onto the ground. Liam landed with and 'umf' noise as the wind was knocked out of him. "Oh! I'm sorry Batman.... I thought you were someone eles." He laughed, "No, no.. I was testing you, to make sure you were on your guard." Robin gave a breath-taking smile and Liam's heart almost exploded.

Niall helped Batman up and blushed a bit for throwing him on the ground. 'You dunce. You know that nobody else knows about the Bat cave...' "So I've called you here so we could talk about some of our newest weapons." He nodded and followed Batman over to one of the tables. While they were walking Niall watched his bum. 'Damn.... Batman has one nice a-' "This is the new ray gun that I've been working on." His thoughts were interrupted by his velvety voice. "Okay, and what does it do?" Batman picked it up and aimed for a target on the wall. It shot out a purpley ray and then their was a giant hole on the wall.

"Whoa.." Liam watched Robin's eyes light up in that adorable way. "Ye-Yeah.." He stuttered. 'Act cool Liam.... Don't mess anything up, you will tell him in due time.' Robin looked up at him and a look of seriousness took over, "Batman. Did you here about the news?" Liam shook his head. 'No... What have they been saying?" He watched Robin walk over to te computer and sit in the chair typing. A news report came up about The Joker. "I... I thought we put him behind bars!" Liam exclaimed in shock and anger. Robin turned and looked at Batman. "I know, we have to be on the look out."
