Sophie's POV

The next day...

Sophie woke up, with the bright sunlight gleaming through her bedroom window, it was easy to forget that everything was all right.

But no, there was the Neverseen and... Keefe...

Sophie wondered why Keefe left her - oh right, he needed to self sacrifice his own life to keep me safe! Sophie thought angrily.

I need help - someone like...

Sophie got up from her bed energetically, grabbed Keefe's letter, and raced down the stairs to find Grady and Edaline with breakfast ready for her.

Sophie's stomach grumbled.

It should be okay to eat first...

Edaline noticed Sophie's tear stains as Sophie sat down.

"Sophie, what happened?" Edaline said softly.

Sophie fingered with a eyelash as she took some mallowmelt for herself.

A moment of silence came...

"Keefe left us," Sophie answered.

Edaline raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean? He isn't he in Splendor Plains with Elwin?"

"No," Sophie replied. She showed her adoptive parents the letter.

"It says it all here," Sophie said in a whisper, "He is-"

"GONE!" Ro shouted furiously as she entered the house.

Sophie and Edaline yelped.

"HUNKYHAIR USED HIS STUPID ABILITY TO KNOCK ME OUT AND NOW HE IS GONE!" Ro yelled.

"Ro," Sophie said, "What are you doing here?"

Ro took a look around and spotted Keefe's letter in Sophie's hand.

Ro quickly reached out, grabbed the letter, and read it.

Silence.

Then Ro turned around, threw the letter behind her back, and stomped furiously to the Leapmaster and shouted, "Splendor Plains!"

As Ro was taken away by a beam of light, Edaline reached out and read the letter.

After a few moments, Edaline gasped and hugged Sophie furiously.

"I'm so so so so so so so sorry Sophie..."

Sophie just reached out and hugged her adoptive mom.

"I was going to ask Biana for some advice on what to do now."

"Then go!" Edaline said as she shoved the letter and Sophie to the Leapmaster.

"Everglen!" Edaline said.

Then Sophie shimmered out of Havenfield.

Edaline gave a sad smile out the open window.

Grady, however, was having a fight with himself on what he should do...
