Y/n and I have been friends since we were kids. We always joked about the movie that is about childhood friends/best friends who fall in love with each other. We used to say that it was so cliche. And here I am, in love with my childhood AND best friend. For many years I tried to hide my feelings because I thought they weren't real, that it was just a little 'crush'. But they are real. I'm sure of it now!
I'm talking with my friends during our school break. I was paying that much attention till I heard y/n's name in the middle of the conversation.
"So Felix, tell us about your little crush on y/n" Jisung said. Felix liked y/n? Since when?
"Oh shut it, I don't have a crush on them. Sure they're cute, and kind, and good-looking, and have a good heart...but I don't have a 'crush' on them" the boys laughed. They really were everything he said and more.
"Yeah, yeah. Everybody believes that you don't like them, not even a tiny bit." Jisung said, still laughing "Tell something to us, your amazing friends, one thing...when are you going to tell them how you feel?"
"I don't know...it's not like I'm close to them or know a lot about them" Felix said, looking down at his feet.
"Ask Seungmin then. They're really close to each other after all" Minho said, pointing at me, who didn't dare to say a word after they brought this topic up.
The boys agreed to what Minho said, but before I could say something, y/n passed our table with their friends, waving a 'hello'. I waved back, giving them a smile. I noticed the others did the same. When y/n sat down with their back facing us, the boys started to tease Felix, and he started blushing because of it.
"But back to the topic, boys. Seungmin, tell us a little more about y/n" Minho said after some time passed. I sighed before telling them more about 'them'.
"They always have trouble falling asleep, and she likes to cuddle while under the sheets. They love pop songs and dancing and bad, trash TV. There are still a few other things..."
"Wow! It's no surprise you two are really close...that's cute though" Jeongin said, and the boys agreed.
"They love 'love notes' and babies and like giving gifts. Has a hard time accepting a good compliment. They love their whole family and all of their friends..."
"Y/n is so cute. Maybe I can give them a love note since they love it..." Felix said while caressing his chin, thinking how he could confess.
"I'm not done yet...run your hands through their hair whenever they're sad. And when they don't notice how pretty they are, tell them over and over, so they never forget..." I am in love with y/n too, but my friends didn't know it either. Why does it hurt when I'm telling him how to win y/n's heart?
"If they give you their heart, don't you break it. Let your arms be a place they feel safe in. They're the best thing that you'll ever have...on days when it feels like the whole world might cave in, stand side by side, and you'll make it. They're the best thing that you'll ever have. They'll love you if you love them like that..." I stopped talking. Nobody said a thing for the past few seconds.
"You like them, don't you?" Felix asked, looking at me. I looked at him in shock, but before I could answer, he continued "Don't even try to deny it! It's pretty obvious! Go tell them now. They're right there." I could tell he was hurt, and still, he didn’t do anything to stop me. Instead, he was encouraging me to confess.
I didn't waste any more time. I got up and started to walk to y/n's table. Getting there, I asked if I could talk to them alone. When we got to a quiet place, I started to say everything I felt about them.
"Remember how we always found silly how the best friend falls in love, with each other, in the movies? Well...I fell in love with my best friend, so... I guess that means I'm an idiot" they started to giggle "What...why...Why are you laughing?"
"It's cute how nervous you were to tell me this" they smiled at me "In that case, guess I'm an idiot too... 'cause I'm in love with my best friend"
I hugged them tightly. Now I can say that they are more than my best friend and I will choose them over and over again. I think we were in our own movie after all.
