*Scarlett Hailen*

"Scarlett! Get down here!" I hear my dad call from the kitchen. I set my phone down on my bed, opening the door as I walk downstairs and approach him.

He looks nice. Fancy suit jacket and a button up white shirt underneath. He rarely dresses up. "Mr. Grain and I are going out for dinner, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone tonight." I scoff at his words. There's nothing to even do in this house. I feel like a teenager who's still locked up in her room. "No promises." I joke.

Headlights soon appeared outside as they lit up the room through the screen door. My father turned around, realizing his ride was here. "Alright, I gotta go. There's food in the fridge. Love you." He walks out the door.

I spent sometime outside sitting on the back porch. I honestly really need alone time. My book was open, resting against my thighs as my feet were on the bench.
The sound of nature calms me.
The wind blowing, causing the beautiful flowers and leaves to sway.

But it was getting dark out. I can just go back inside and finish the book in there.
I walk back inside of the house, locking the door behind me. I then go into my room, closing the door. My phone immediately starts ringing as it sits face up on my bed.

It was a facetime call from my best friend, Deon. I quickly answer it.

"God. I've called you like fifteen times. Where were you?" I hear the panic in his voice.
I sigh. "Sorry, I was outside. I just needed some time alone."
"Oh sorry, am I interrupting?"
"No, you're fine. I'm done being the little bookworm I am for now." I try to cover it up with a chuckle, but he's quick to answer.
"Scarlett, you need to stop calling yourself that."
"You really think I let those juniors get to me?"
"Scarlett." He gives me a look. Like a "really?" facial expression.

"So," I clear my throat, driving us away from the topic. "How's the-"
"Babe, come on! Can we spend more time before you go?" Deon's boyfriend pleads as he's now in the frame. "Oh. Hey, Scar!" He waves. "Hey Austen!" I wave back, giving him the same energy. "I'll meet you in the room." Deon give Austen a kiss on the cheek as he walks off.

"Y'know how many things can happen in the room, correct?"
"Scarlett!" He shouts as I start to giggle. "Goddamn, you two are a handful."
"Oh, please. He's worse than me."
"I'm not arguing with you. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
"Yeah. Love you."
"Love you too."
"Be safe tonight." I wink at him as he quickly realizes. "Fuck you."
"Say that to Austen." He hangs up before I get another say.

Deon is currently in Hawaii with his boyfriend. It's their last night together till he comes back tomorrow. Him and I will meet up somewhere and just chat. He's been gone for about two months, spending time with his boyfriend since they're long distance. It's been difficult for them, but they know how to make every second count. That's sweet.

Third Person

The two men sit across from each other in a booth. A plate stationed in front of both of them, along with one glass of red wine and one glass of tequila. A fork and knife placed to their right as the food had just arrived.

"So, Mr. Hue," Benjamin Grain spoke. Daniel Hue picks up his glass. "Hm?"
"Tell me about your daughter, yeah?"
"Oh yes, the talk about our children!" He exclaims, putting his glass down once again as he had just taken the last sip. "It's just Scarlett, she's 22."

"That's sweet." Mr. Grain chuckles at his response. "My mansion, new thing everyday. My youngest could be running around next thing you know he's getting tackled by his brother." He speaks like he has something to brag about. Mr. Hue scoffs at his attitude. "Oh, man. It's been awhile, hasn't it? Tell me more about your children."
