"Luke! Hey, hold on a second!"
The guitar strap over my left shoulder yanked me back, allowing me to let out an embarrassing yelped noise as I fell in step with Michael, the two of us continuing down the hallway before school.
"What the hell, mate! I just got this case!"
Michael laughed, dusting off my shoulder jokingly.
"You'll survive. Where were you last night? Like, 600 girls were asking about you at that dumb party."
I rolled my eyes, glancing at the time on my phone before quickly turning back to Michael.
"Like I said, that's really not my scene." I spoke, referring to this exact conversation we had last Wednesday.
"Man, you used to be so cool." Michael said in a joking tone as I laughed, putting him in a headlock down the rest of the hallway.
That is, until Michael started flailing around so much that we heard a small squeak, then a thud to the ground.
I dropped Mikey, spinning around as he let out a complain.
"Oh."
The girl, kneeling over her stomach, lifted her head up to give us a blood-churning glare. Her eyes pierced at Michael.
"I'm..." Michael started again, but she already rose from her position, drilling holes into our souls with her large green eyes and walking away like nothing happened.
"...sorry." Michael finished, dropping his hand to help her up.
"Freak."
"Mikey, who is she?"
He looked up at me like I was crazy.
"Dude...she's been here all year. You've never seen her around?" He asked in disbelief, slapping my arm when I nodded against it.
"She's called Beck. Her real name is, like...Belatrix? Something witchy like that. She's really strange, she doesn't talk to anyone. I've never even heard her voice." Michael explained as we walked into our homeroom.
"Don't be mean, man." I laughed as we sat in our seats towards the back of the room.
Beck, huh.

The second the bell rang, and I bolted strait out of my classroom to my locker, holding my jet-black acoustic guitar. I started work early today, and I still needed to set up.
"Beck!"
Oh god.
I slowly craned my neck, noticing bobbing purple hair in the corner of my eye. Turning back around immediately, I made my way up the stairs. I wanted nothing to do with Michael Gordon Clifford right now, or ever, for that matter.
Until, I felt someone tug at the hem of my school skirt, that I had purposefully pulled down to my knees. I don't need my damn underwear to be seen by the entire school body every time I go up the stairs.
"Hey! Why don'tcha come down and say hey to my friend! He wants to meet ya!"
There was a little commotion and mumbling coming from a few people, probably his friends. I was frozen on the staircase.
I began to walk back up, but this time, my skirt was tugged again, followed by more urges to come down. My face was turning red I was so angry. All he wants to do is pick at me, like everyone else in this hellhole.
I've really had it with this kid today.
"Leave me alone!"I hissed, spinning on my heel and kicking whoever was behind me strait in the face.
But it wasn't Michael I kicked.
The blonde kid from this morning who was with Michael, Luke, was on the floor, rubbing his head. He moved his hand down, and blood had seeped onto his fingertips. I was frozen.
I did not mean to do that.
"What the HELL." Michael yelled at me as I cringed back, locking all my smart remarks and emotional bursts back inside, where they belong. Everyone was staring at me again.
I looked back at Luke. His milky-blue eyes looked just like marbles as a small dribble of blood fell down his forehead.
Violent flashbacks started.
I sucked my head down again, springing down the stairs and skidding down the hallway, bypassing Michael and Luke completely. I heard Luke's voice call after me, but I didn't look up.
I won't ever look up again.
Well, that was quite interesting.
I promise not all the chapters will be sulky, I'm just getting some character component in.
I hope this is rad so far and not too rough around the edges!
