Morgan
"Your destination is on the right."
I quickly pulled into the packed parking lot and managed to find a space to park in closer toward the entrance. There were way too many people here for my liking. It's killing me to come here by myself even though I'm new to the area, but I had no choice. I'm not too excited to start my first day tomorrow but if I'm going to start, I need to start in style.
Before I get out, I whipped out my wallet counting the amount of money I had just to make sure it's all there. I've been helping my ma pay the bills for a minute now and this is the first paycheck that I've got all to myself in a while.
I push my fingers through my hair as I stepped out of the car and headed inside of the mall. The first store I automatically searched for was foot locker. I skipped all the way to the boys section and looked at the shoes.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing on the boys side?" I heard someone from behind me say.
I frown as I turn around meeting eyes with a brownskin boy about my height, maybe taller. He had a head full of curls.
I couldn't get mad, he was kind of cute.
I looked down at his name tag and seen it was Trevor."Not a 'Hello Ma'am'? Or a 'How may I help you'? I wouldn't wanna to call up the manager Trevor..." I cross my arms with a small grin on my face.
He playfully cleared his throat then continued. "How may I help you, Ms..."
"Just Morgan."
"How may I help you, just Morgan?"
I smile then turn my attention back to the shoes I was looking at earlier. "Do you happen to have these in a size sev—"
"WHERE'S TREVOR!?" Yelled a girl from outside of the store. My eyes widen as I seen her storming around the store looking for him.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" He said, trying his hardest to ignore her.
"Size seven—" I say only to get cut off once more.
"TREVOR!" She yells even louder, starting to irritate me. I sigh.
"You know what...never mind." I put the shoe back on the rack and walk out of the store.
As I was on the way out, I made sure to walk slowly so I could ease drop on their conversation.
"Look at what the hell you just did! We ain't doing this while I'm working, you done lost your fucking mind." I heard him say angrily.
Crazy girlfriend? Damn that sucks...I could've sworn he was flirting with me.
I shopped for a while, eventually becoming satisfied with my selection, and went home. I locked the doors to my car and walked into the condo with my bags.
"Ma, look at what I got!" I called. She stepped out her room and walked over to me.
"What we get?" She sat on the couch. I sat beside her.
I looked at her crazy as soon as she said that. I hope she ain't think I leave for two hours to get something for her.
"I got a few outfits for school."
"Well are you going to show me?"
I roll my eyes took them out of the bag. I had put the shirts with the correct pant to show her the exact outfits that I'll be wearing. I looked over to see how much she liked them but I couldnt help to notice a guilty look on her face.
"Don't tell me I forgot to tell you..." She sighed and rubbed on her forehead.
"What's wrong?" My smile turn into a frown quickly.
She procrastinated. "I may have forgot to tell one thing about your school.."
I smacked my lips. "Go head, say it."
"You have to wear uniforms." She said.
"WHAT? Are you serious?!" Seriously, what kind of school doesnt let kids express themselves through clothing?
"Its just for the week! You can wear whatever you want on Saturday's and Sunday's."
I give her a long look just before leaving to go to my room.
She followed me and continued to talk. "You'll really like it there, I promise."
Boy, I really hope she's right.
