"Erica...look around. Absorb your surroundings..." That whisper again. Erica decided to take the young girls advice. She looked around, and what she saw was absolutely amazing. Beautiful flowers colored bright pink and purples, some of the tallest trees she had ever seen, light that peeked out of small holes in the above foliage...if she were to die, this would certainly be heaven. She decided to venter around the woods. "Maybe I'll find out where the heck I'm supposed to be.."
A few hours later, Erica arrived at a small cave.
"Yes..brave girl..go on..go inside...your fate lies with the stars..."
Erica shivered at the voice's advice. Going in there could be dangerous.
"I assure you, girl...this cave is perfectly safe..."
"Oh, like I should trust the creepy voice in my head? I guess there isn't really any other way..considering she didn't know her way home. Going inside could be a certain death. Staying out here, the same. It's going to get dark soon, anyways. I can use this place for shelter." Erica groaned and entered the cave.
Fire bursted to life in the torches on the sides of the cave. The hallway went on and on... This cave was much larger than Erica originally thought it was. She continued onto the lit path. After a few minutes of walking around, Erica entered a giant room.
I mean, it was huge.
Above, the fleeting sunlight was drifting through stained glass. A perfect view of the perfect sunset. Bookshelves lined the walls of the room, each filled completely with books that had strange titles. "In another language maybe?" She whispered to herself. In the center of the room was a desk littered with potions and dusty books. In the very back, there was a wooden door with a small window on it. Light shone through the window, indicating that there was someone in that very room. She gasped. "Maybe they can help???" She ran to the other side of the room, her black shoes clicking on the wood floor. Erica knocked on the door and peered through the dusty window.
"Annette? You know you don't have to knock, right? Come in!"
Erica was nervous. What would the person behind the door think when she walked through and wasn't Annette? Only one way to find out... She opened the door and entered, lightly closing it behind her.
"Um.. I'm not Annette. My name is Erica." She said sheepishly. A slightly plump woman bustled over in Erica's direction. She wore magenta wizard's robes and had short, frizzy brown hair.
"Oh! Erica dear, we've been expecting you."
