Mikoto felt like a pancake... a very flat pancake.
The G Force had already disappeared 12 hours ago, yet, the speed at which they had travelled to leave Earth's atmosphere had really flattened her against her seat.
And after Urahara had jokingly said, "You are free to move about the cabin." Mikoto had gotten up, and promptly fell on her face due to her wobbly legs. And for plenty of hours.. she had remained in that position, moaning from motion sickness, which she found weird, because firstly, as an Esper Dragon Born, her esper brain accounted for any sort of motion sickness her Dragon side might produce, and considering they were in space, where their was no gravity except for the artificial gravity inside, it shouldn't have been possible to get motion sick.
Evident by the fact that Nicole, Gajeel and Natsu were sitting around the place without any discomfort.
Could Mikoto be claustrophobic? Nah.. of course not. She spent a night in a windowless holding cell with nothing but her skin, and she had once been eaten by a giant mountain wyrm on a job and had to punch her way out (long story). And... and...SHE HAD BEEN TERRIFIED WHEN THE WYRM ATE HER!!!
Mikoto could feel sweat pouring down her face, her hands shaking, her eyes widening. Her breathing quickened. What if she ran out of oxygen? What if she couldn't move?
All these what-if stacked up to tell Mikoto one strange fact. She had developed claustrophobia. But why? She never had this problem before.
"Hey... are you alright Biribiri?" Touma knealt next to Mikoto. "I thought you were sleeping at first, but... you're shaking like a leaf."
"She has claustrophobia." said Urahara. "It's a strange thing I discovered about Esper Dragon Slayers recently. After a while, Dragon Slayers who have Esper powers as well, develop a new weakness in place of their motion sickness. Funnily enough, it only triggers when the room is below a specific size, and there are no windows.. and the environment is moving. The moving part probably evolved from the motion sickness thing. So moving confined spaces like an elevator, or a crowded bus is pretty bad.. even if it doesn't feel like it's moving... whoops.. my bad. Anyways, Azure and Rhode have it too."
"And so does she." said Ichigo, who was sitting with an arm around Shizuri, who was hugging her knees, whispering. "The walls are closing in, the walls are closing in, the walls are closing in.."
"Geh! That's way worse then motion sickness!" said Gajeel. "Wendy, ya got anything for Claustrophobia?"
"Sorry.. I don't..." said Wendy, looking overwhelmed. "Irrational Fear isn't really healable.."
"I've got something.. " said Touma. "Hey Ichigo, think you can follow my lead on this?"
"Worth a try." said Ichigo.
Touma got Mikoto in a sitting position. "Okay, Mikoto, I want you to breathe.. but calm.. focus only on my voice and me.. there is no room, there is nothing else, just you and me..."
Mikoto could feel cold sweat pouring down her face.. but she listened.. she took a deep breath.. and sighed.. slowing her breath.. and sighed again.. focusing only on Touma's face.. "Wait.. T-Touma... I remembered.. Miyoko, and Mir's lightning is blue.."
"Eh.. yeah.. it is.."
"That means..." Mikoto whispered. "Oh no.. they're Esper Dragon Borns too!!"
Mikoto looked around frantically. "Where are they! They must be terrified!!"
Without any regard for the claustrophobic environment around her, Mikoto ran over to Miyoko and Mir, who were both huddling their knees. She hugged them protectively. "AND NONE OF YOU NOTICED!?"
