3rd persons POV

It was a beautiful day in the kingdom when the princess woke up by the bright light from the little gap inbetween the curtains that was shining into her eyes. She slowly woke up opening her beautiful dark brown eyes. When she started to stand up from her bed, her maid Anne came into her room and she opened the curtains all the way. " Goodmorning princess, would you like some water before you go downstairs, your Majesty? " asked the maid. " Oh please, call me y/n. " The princess said while smiling at the maid standing infront of her in her uniform the king made the staff wear. " Oh-uh im sorry, would you like some water, y/n? " asked the maid. " No need to apologize, Anne. But yes I would like some water, please. " The maid nodded and said: " I will get it right away, y/n. " while she bowed a little. Then the maid left and closed the door behind her.

After the maid left, y/n went to her desk to freshen up a little before she went downstairs to meet her family and eat breakfast together. Y/n started with combing trough her shoulder length dark brown hair. When she was done combing her hair she pind half her hair back with a clip so she had a half up half down hairstyle. That's when the maid came back with the water. Y/n thanked the maid and the maid left the room. Y/n washed her face with water and put on some make-up. After she was done with all that, she went downstairs to eat breakfast.

As y/n was walking down the stairs, she walked past some servants and they all bowed a little. When she was almost downstairs, she saw her father walking towards her. Her mother died when she was little so her father took care of her. The only thing she had left of her mother was a little bracelet. It wasn't much, but it was y/n's most precious thing she ever owned. It was gold with a little phoenix printed on the bracelet. The phoenix looked beautiful with the fire around it. Her father gave it to her when her mother passed. He said that the bracelet meant a lot to her mother and that it had a special meaning to her mother. It was so meaningfull to her that she never took it off.

She loved her mother, but she also loved her father with her whole heart, but sometimes there were those moments when she thought he was holding back some secrets and that he woudn't tell her everything. Y/n never questioned it though. Her father was the king of the whole kingdom and he was a good one too. So when she thought those things, y/n thought that it just had to do with some politics and that she probably wouldn't understand it.

She stepped down the last steps of the stairs, when her father said to her: " Goodmorning, y/n. Did you sleep well?" Which y/n replied to with: " Goodmorning father. Yes I slept really well today." The king replied with: " Good to hear that. " while smiling at his daughter he loved very much.

When they arrived at the dinning room, they sat down at the big table. Her father at the end and y/n around the corner of the table. The table was decorated with a white table clothing and some vases with light pink flowers in them. They started eating their breakfast. When the king eats breakfast, he always reads through his work papers. He does that just to make sure everything is right and in order. They weren't talking that much, just some words here and there.

After a while the king said something that shook the princess. He wanted that she would marry someone when she became 18. She was 17 at the time and would turn eighteen in 3 months. Y/n looked at her father with pure shock in her eyes, while her father stared at her with a serious look. She stared at him knowing that he was being serious. Y/n didn't want that. She wasn't ready to marry yet! Y/n never really worried about marriage, so she never really looked for someone she wanted to spent the rest of her life with. She looked at her father and said: " But father, I don't want to marry so soon! Besides I haven't found the right one yet. " Y/n said with a sad expresion on her face. " Well, if you don't find the right one before you're 18, I'll have you marry Leo. " said her father. Y/n stood up fast in shock.

Leo? LEO? She hated Leo since she was little. He was the son of one of the people her dad worked with. When the parents had a meeting together, the kids had to play together. Well the kids never really played. Why? Because Leo always picked on y/n and never stopped. Even when they were teenagers, Leo never matured out of it. It still goes on till this day. " I DON'T WANT TO MARRY LEO!! " y/n said with anger in her voice. Oh how much she hated this boy.

The king looked at her shocked because of her reaction. " Y/N!" He said shocked. "Where are your manners?!" He asked sharply. " You are going to marry him if you don't find the 'right one' before you're 18! " The king said irritated because she didn't want to marry Leo. " Now sit back down. " The king demanded her. Y/n sat back down.

The rest of the time she was looking down at her food thinking about what her father just said to her. What will she do? Run away? Will she find someone she really likes before it's too late? Will she have to marry Leo? The guy she hates? Or will something unexpected happen?

When she was done eating breakfast, she went back upstairs and thought about it for a long time. Y/n really didn't know what to do....
