The secrets

Y/n's POV: 

I entered the castle with a huge smile plastered on my face. Josie is the nicest person I've ever met. I can't wait to meet her again.

After I went inside the castle I basically ran upstairs. I knew I was late for dinner and my father wouldn't be happy with that. 

I entered my room and quickly changed into a different dress. It was light pink with some white here and there. I really liked it. When I make a turn it twirls in a big circle. I looked in my mirror while fixing my hair and quickly fixing things here and there.

After I was done getting ready I quickly walked back downstairs. When I stood in front of the big doors of the dinning room, I took a deep breath before going in. I was pretty nervous. The news  he told me this morning made me react a way my father didn't really like. So I don't know how his mood will be. Still angry? Normal? Or did he forget about it? I didn't know. 

I went inside the dinning room and saw my father already sitting and the food already served. 

" Hello y/n. How was your day? " My father said sounding normal.

I was surprise he was acting normal. Like he just forgot about what happened this morning. 

" Hello father. It was okay. I went to the market today. " I said to him while sitting down. " I made a friend today. Her name is Josie. She's really sweet and funny. I'm going to meet her again this Wednesday. " I continued after I sat down in my chair.

My father looked up from his food and looked at me for a couple of seconds. " Why did you went to the market? " My dad asked.

" Oh-uh, I was just a little bored and wanted to do something new. " I replied to my father.

" Okay, did you buy something there? " My father asked.

" I bought a little basket with purple flowers on it there. The lady who sold them was really nice." I told my father with a small smile forming on my face while thinking back at the nice lady.

My father took another bite of his food before nodding a little. After that he didn't say another word and went back to reading his paper work again. I also went back to eating the food the cook had made for us. Everything he makes is perfect. The taste, the looks and it always smells amazing. And just like any other day, it tastes delicious.

When my father was almost done with eating he said that there will be a ball in two weeks. I'm not going to lie, I was excited. 

" You can go look for a dress with Anne tomorrow. " My father said.

" I'm looking forward to it. " I replied with a smile to my father.

My dad stands up. " Well, dinner was lovely again. I'll be getting back to work now. I'll be in my room if you need anything. " He says.

" I should be going too. Goodnight father. " I said to my father.

"Goodnight sweetie. " He said back.

We parted ways and I went to the library to search for a new book to read. I've always liked reading. It takes your mind to a whole different world and it makes you forget about the real world and what is happening in it for a moment. It makes you feel free.

I went into the library and started my search for a good book. I read most of the books so it's difficult finding something new but after some searching I found a book that looked interesting to me. It's about pirates that kidnap a girl her age and taking her to a mysterious  land that no one knows about.

I took it back to my room and started reading it. 3 chapters in and I already fell in love with the book. I read it for some more time before realising it was very late and I should head to bed. I put the book away and I changed into some pyjama's. 

I was getting ready for bed when the maid Anne walked in my room. I was sitting in front of my desk when she walked to me. " Hello y/n, would you like something before getting some sleep? " she asked.

" No, I'm alright. Thank you though. " I say to Anne.

Anne may be a maid but she's really sweet and has always been there for me. When I needed someone to talk to, she was there. If I needed someone to trust and break down crying because I just had to get it out, she was there for me. She meant a lot to me. I trust Anne with my whole heart.

" Are you excited for the ball, y/n? " Anne askes while she starts to comb through my hair.

" Yes, I am. I heard we're going to go get a new dress tomorrow. I can't wait to spend some time with you! " I said to Anne.

" I'm really excited for that too. I do really like spending time with you. " She said to me while smiling. " Do you have a sort dress in your mind you'd like to buy? " She askes.

" I think I want something light purple or blue. I really like those colours. I was thinking something that stands out, but I don't want it to be too much. I don't really know. What do you think? " I ask her.

She looks up from combing my hair and starts to think. " It think purple really fits you. Or a dark blue dress would also look amazing on you. " She said with a small smile on her face.

" You know, I think everything looks good on you. It doesn't matter if you wear a curtain tied around you or even some papers glued together, you'll look stunning. " Anne says with a big smile looking at me.

I chuckle at her sweet words. She's always so sweet to me. I really love her personality.

"Thank you so much. You never disappoint to make me smile Anne. I don't know what I'd do without you. " I say while turning my head to look at her.

" Thank you, miss y/n. And it's the truth. " She said while placing the brush back down on my desk.

" I'll go now.  Have a goodnight sleep y/n. " Anne said while walking to the door.

" Goodnight Anne! " I say to her.

Anne walks out the door. I sit down on my bed brainstorming about my dream dress that I will buy. I really like purple but a dark blue dress also doesn't sound wrong at all.

 I can't wait till the ball. I've had a few balls before when I was younger and they were amazing. The food is delicious. And there is so much of it. The people are really nice and you get to know people better. And you can't forget the dances. When you dance with the people it feels magical with the magical music playing. I will never get tired of balls.

I went to my window to close it so I can get to bed. I closed it and went through my room blowing out the candles that kept my room lit. 

When there were a few candles left I heard a thud behind me. I picked up a candle so I could see and turned around.

" Hello? Is anybody there? " I basically asked the air.

Nothing.

I looked around my room real quick and saw nothing. I probably just imagined something that wasn't there. I went on with blowing out the candles and thought nothing about it. I felt save again. I was on my last few candles and the room was barely lit. I stood still for a second to try to hear if there really wasn't something in my room.

Nothing.

I took another look around room until I was sure there was really nothing. Everything looked fine.

Until I saw that my window was no longer closed...
