This wasn't supposed to happen.

This wasn't supposed to happen

He went too far this time

They always had arguments like this, but he went too far this time.

There was nothing he could do, it happened, and there was nothing he could do to undo what he had just done.

There he was, standing over the woman he loved, dagger in hand as she bled to death.

She was right, his quest for immortality made him lose sight of who he once loved, made him lose any trace of humanity, she couldn't stay with someone who doesn't act like her husband anymore, she was going to leave him and he wasn't going to let her.

She couldn't bear staying with the shell of the man she once loved as her husband, he showed her less affection, he stopped treating her like his wife but more like one of his followers, all he could ever talk about were his plans to rule the wizarding world, slay muggleborns and anyone who dares to get in his way.

She was getting sick of all of it, all the talk about power and immorality. She realized that the only thing he had on his mind was domination and immortality so she felt like he didn't need her anymore.

She wished she had never spoken to him the first time they interacted

"Excuse me, may I sit here" a deep voice interrupted Juliana's thoughts "Do whatever you must" she spoke still looking at her book and the person sat on the other chair next to her "I didn't intend to bother you" he spoke when he noticed the way her face changed "It just so happens that every other table is crowded"

"It's fine, as long as you dial back on the conversation, I have no problem" she spoke still not taking her eyes off her book "You seem to be the only fifth year I've seen that isn't stressing over their OWLs" she hear feel the smile that made its way to his face as he spoke those words.

"Well then, maybe I'm not one for studying" she bit back "That explains why you're reading literature" "I politely asked you to dial back on the conversation" she put down her book and glared at him "I'm not one for conversating with strangers Mr-" "Riddle" "I know who you are" she bit back "I take it you're not one for socializing" he chuckled

"Stick to your book and I'll stick to mine" she went back to reading her book "What if I want to get to know you" he asked "Then you ask around, it's that simple" she shrugged "I see that getting to know you will be a challenging task" he chuckled "Are you this feisty with anyone else" she didn't answer and just kept reading her book.

She wished that she had never joined him

"You really don't give up do you" Juliana sighed as Tom sat down next to her in the courtyard. "I'm starting to think you may fancy me" "No, I'd think of you as a study partner" he told her "Are you ever going to give up your pursuit, because I'm not looking for a boyfriend, or a friend" she told him "How about an ally" he asked "Same thing" "No actually, an ally is-"

"If I answer your few questions, then will you leave me alone" "So, I just can't get to know you" "I'm not one for 'socializing' Mr. Riddle. I'd tell you to ask my friends but rumor has it, I have none" she told him "Then let me take that task upon myself. I do like a challenge" he spoke and she looked at him "Really" "Really" "Fine then, I give you one week to challenge yourself" she said and packed up her things

"A week" he asked "Just a week, good luck Riddle" she stood up and left him thinking to himself. She was making it difficult for him, he had to take the long route to get her to join him but he was going to do whatever it took, however much research he would make.
