"Hey! You guys over there! Shut up and watch the movie!"
I slapped Landon's shoulder. "Landon! Shut up!" He kept snickering and chomped on his popcorn loudly.
My phone then started going off, my Spongebob ringtone echoing throughout the movie theater. "Aubrey! Shut up!" Landon said, mimicking me and chomping on some more popcorn.
Digging around my purse, I brought out my iPhone and clicking accept, not even bothering to see who it was. "Hello?"
"Hey BreBug."
"Nate!!!!!" I basically screamed through the phone. Landon slapped me on the arm.
"Shut up, Aubrey!" he said, hitting my arm again. God, did he lift weights? He was definitely going to leave a bruise. Ow.
"Sorry, Nate. I'm sitting next to an idiot."
"Hey! I am not an idiot. I passed at the top of my math class."
"I'm guessing you were in the 'special' math class?" Okay, I got punched again.
"Are you at the movies? And with whom, may I ask?"
"Yes, I am. With Ciara. And Landon." I said the last part very quietly, and Nate almost didn't pick it up. Dangit.
"Landon? Who is this Landon boy?"
"Nate, you can stop acting like dad. He's just my dance partner and I actually really hate him."
"You know you love me," Landon replied, puckering his lips. I hit them with my phone, and as he let out a yelp of pain, I turned back to talking to Nate.
"Is his last name Ramsey?"
"Yeah. And, um, how did you know that? That's kind of creepy," I slowly said, thinking that this whole situation was quite awkward and Nate was acting really, really weird.
"Landon Ramsey! That guy is a freaking legend in high school football! Honestly, whenever I'm home from college, I make sure to go to all the games he has. Landon is my bro! He's the best running back the Langlade County High Falcons has seen in twenty years!" While my brother went on with his football stat babble, I studied Landon. Wow, the way his arms flexed when he reached for the popcorn was really, really cute. He has dimples when he smiles; his hair was all disheveled and the light from the movie screen gave the impression that it was a sandy blonde. "Audrey? Hello, you there?" My brother asked. I snapped my attention back to my phone instead of Landon's green eyes.
"Yep, I'm here. I just didn't want to hear you go on and on about Landon's football stats." At the mention of his name, Landon snapped his head around and gave me a weird look.
"Your brother knows my football stats?"
"Apparently, he's Nate Daniels, your 'best bro on the planet.'" Landon nearly threw his popcorn in the air.
"You've got to be shittin' me! Your brother is Nate Daniels? Gimme the phone!" He lunged towards my phone and knocked it out of my hand. It went sailing two seats down and he jumped out of his seat, going after the phone. He picked it up and started chit-chatting about football with my brother. I scooted down and sat next to Ciara, who has been so engrossed in the movie she didn't even notice that Landon basically went skydiving to get my phone.
Down three seats, Landon was laughing loudly and looking like he was getting a real kick out of my brother. All I knew was that this was just another person that was going to get on my case about going out with Landon. Because, now that Nate knows he's my partner, and Nate is Landon's "Best Bro on the Planet," this is basically his dream come true.
