You swing your legs off of the side of the Tokyo Tower, waiting for Hawks to arrive and start the patrol. It's a cold night, and you are thankful for remembering to put underlayers on, especially since most of tonight you'll be soaring in the sky or jumping across building roofs high up. Despite the cold, the sky is cloudless and the moon shines down on the street-lit city below. It looks like a Disney scene.

You suddenly feel the presence of a particular person behind you an you turn around to face a familiar man with wings the colors of a ruby and a coffee colored coat with fur lining.

"So you're actually showing up for patrol, huh?" You comment with a casual smirk.

"Nice to see you too, baby dove," Hawks remarks. You hate that nickname and he knows it, but he'd called you dove ever since you visited a bird show with him, because you kept wanting to go back and watch the doves. You were only eight. Besides, the nickname seemed fitting for him as a bird himself.

"Shut up."

"Aww, c'mon now! You're already telling me to shut up and it's been weeks since I last saw you! That has to be a record." A playful smile widens across his lips and you turn away from him, already knowing this night will be hell.

You stand facing the city lights below. "We should start patrolling now."

You both hop towards the floor and soon you're on the roof of a small apartment where you get a clear view of the streets.

"So how's the latest mission going?" Hawks says, not bothering to hide the eagerness in his voice. He wants you to make more friends your age as much as All Might, so you know he won't be happy to hear the dreadful things you said.

"It's fine. So far so good."

"So you've made new friends then?"

"Shush. You know I don't want and don't need any other friends, especially gross teenagers."

"What about the lads? Any cute boys you're interested in?" Hawks retaliates, his smirk growing wider by the second. You can feel your cheeks glow red.

"Shut up! Gross!" You both automatically move to the next building, this one higher up than the last.

"Are you sure, Y/N? You're bright red, y'know."

"I am aware, Hawks."

He chuckles. "Seriously though, I think it would be a good idea to make some friends your age right now. Honestly it would come in pretty handy for the future if you had connections, like, when you become pro heroes."

You feel yourself beginning to boil at his good argument. "Leave it alone! I'll become one of the top heroes in the world, and I won't need any 'connections' to do so. I'm already the fourth on the list! And it's not like they could become pros anyway, so-"

Within a second, your feet are swept off of the building and you're in the sky. The wind blows your hood away and reveals your shiny (h/c) hair as it whips your cheeks lightly in the heavy breeze, and you know that you are safe because the number 3 hero is below you, his feathers carrying you both in the night. Hawks does a one-eighty, flipping you upside down momentarily before lifting you back into his chest. You shift to lie comfortable with him, pouting at his idea to shut you up. It worked. You gaze up at the stars, using your finger to trace the many constellations you have memorized in your head. He's slowed down now, and the protection of his broad shoulders stops the wind from dragging your hair across your face. It's peaceful with Hawks, up in the sky, stargazing. Even though you still wear a frown on your face, you can't be mad at him during times like this. Never.

After a few minutes of floating like that, you talk quietly, almost to yourself, into the cool air.

"I think I said some really terrible things to them, Keigo. I told them they should leave me alone. I told them I didn't want to be their friend. But I do! They were so nice, and this one girl, Kyouka Jirou, she's amazing with her quirk! They have potential, honest, and then I yelled at them. They probably hate me. They must  hate me! And I hate my stupid self, and my stupid panic attacks, and my stupid anxiety. I hate this whole stupid freaking mission!" It felt nice to vent out to someone, and you take in a few deep breaths to calm yourself and wait for Hawks' response. Instead, he says,
