the little black notebook (part one)

While in the Slytherin common room, Y/n finds the diary of her best friend, Tom Riddle. Wanting to not get caught with the little black notebook, Y/n brings it upstairs to read in her personal dorm room.

Dear Diary,

Before I tell you anything, I thought we should get to know each other. Yes this is extremely foolish of me to do, but I can't tell a stranger a secret can I? Anyways, my name is Tom Marvolo Riddle. I am one of the greatest ̶h̶a̶l̶f̶ ̶b̶l̶o̶o̶d̶  pureblood wizard in all of history. I am currently 17 years old. No. I do not and WILL NEVER have a romantic interest in this story. Girls are disgusting! They walk around and follow me while the drool drips out of their mouth. How could people not care about their reputation? ̶T̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶g̶i̶r̶l̶ ̶n̶a̶m̶e̶d̶ ̶Y̶/̶N̶ ̶L̶/̶N̶ ̶(̶M̶y̶ ̶c̶l̶o̶s̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶c̶q̶u̶a̶i̶n̶t̶a̶n̶c̶e̶)̶.̶ ̶S̶h̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶a̶u̶t̶i̶f̶u̶l̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶s̶a̶r̶c̶a̶s̶t̶i̶c̶.̶ ̶S̶h̶e̶ ̶u̶n̶d̶e̶r̶s̶t̶a̶n̶d̶s̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶h̶u̶m̶o̶r̶,̶ ̶u̶n̶l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶w̶a̶t̶s̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶c̶h̶o̶o̶l̶.̶ ̶  Nevermind. I am currently studying horcruxes. You might wonder how a horcrux works aren't you? Well I suppose I could be this muggle thing called "Google" for the day. All you have to say is, "Hey Tom, how do horcruxes work?" Go on. Try it.

Cautiously, Y/n looked around her room to make sure nobody would see her doing something so utterly ridiculous.

"Hey Tom, how do horcruxes work?"

After a few moments nothing happened. Y/n wanted to throw the (stupid) diary across the room. She couldn't believe she had just walked into something so dumb.

Then, words started to appear on the seemingly empty pages.

You must feel stupid. Saying that aloud for nothing to happen. Fear not, Tom is here to save the day. Below, you will find the instructions on how to make a horcrux, specially written by me.

Horcrux making 101: 

By: TMR

1. Become an extremely powerful witch or wizard (Such as myself). This will take years of study and sacrifice. As a general guide you should not attempt to create a horcrux until you can cast non-verbal killing curses (You should be able to perform a spell like this in years 2-4) .

2. Locate an object of extreme significance to you. An emotional attachment to the object will aid the process and make it easier on your body and soul. (This diary, Nagini, Slytherin Locket, Hufflepuff Cup, Marvolo Gaunt Ring, the Ravenclaw Diadem, and TBD Y/n?)

3. Bathe in the Water of Sorrows and eat 1 cup of paste made from the Herb of Undeath no sooner than 12 hours before committing the principal act of the ritual. (Tastes worse than it sounds)

4. Cast the preliminary incantation in the presence of your object. Bring your wand from hanging medial at your side to in front of your heart at approximately 45 degrees from your waist. At this point you should flick the wand in a circular fashion 146 degrees and then whip it outwards to the full extension of your limb. During this last movement issue the following command: "Voces fallacis amicae"

5. Perform an act of unspeakable evil while carrying the object you wish to turn into a horcrux. 

6. Within 15 minutes of performing the act, clutch the object you wish to turn into a horcrux with both hands and yell the following incantation: "Diabolus fecit, ut id facerem!"

7. You will lose consciousness. This is a normal part of the process. When you have awoken the object in your hands will be a horcrux. You will feel very different (some have described the feeling as if you are "half empty") and will have an almost motherly affection to the object. (I always feel like this so I'm not sure if it worked or not)

8. Cast protective spells on and around the horcrux, and do not tell anyone of its existence. You must eliminate anyone. (That finds out, but eliminating people is just as fun)

Y/n wasn't sure whether to feel used, upset, delighted, or confused. At this point, she was a mix of all four. She hid the book in the back of her closet, casting protective charms on it. Y/n then went on a walk to clear her head, after having read Tom's disturbing diary.
