Y/n and Draco had been friends since forever.
Their mothers (Narcissa and Rosalie) were the best of friends, they met when they both attended Hogwarts. Ever since then they were inseparable.
It was only natural that when the women fell pregnant at the same time, their children would spend almost everyday with each other and become the best of friends just like their mothers.
Y/n and Draco grew up together up until the age of 11, when they were separated.
Y/n's father had grown up in America and attended Ilvermorny unlike her mother. He wanted y/n to have a chance to explore the world and all it has to offer. Y/n did not like this at first, but she grew fond of the idea over time. The only problem was having to separate from Draco, her lifelong friend. They had never spent more than a week apart.
After a woeful goodbye between the two young friends, y/n was off to America.
They kept in touch via letters a lot, but as the years went on the letters become less frequent. They still missed each other dearly, they just didn't have the time to be in constant communication anymore. Especially in 5th year with the OWLs coming up.
At the end of 5th year was when y/n had decided she finally wanted to come home for the summer break.
