More than friends, less than lovers

Eight

As Namjoon got on the plane the manager naturally took his passport to make sure it doesn't get lost. He was sat next to jin as they both knew they could sleep in peace.

Then jhope and yoongi were sat together, this is how it usually goes to make sure everyone has someone to sit with and talk to. Lastly, Jimin was sat in the middle of jungkook and Taehyung. He didn't know if this was a dream or a nightmare.

"I want to sleep the whole flight because I am way too tired." Jungkook explained.

"Oh wow so you're leaving me with this crazy guy" Jimin laughed pointing at tae.

Jungkook laughed and nodded.

As the plane took off jungkook was 'sleeping' however tae was a little too clever for jungkook and messaged Jimin saying, "he is definitely not asleep. I am going to talk about something just follow my lead." 
Jimin nodded.

"So Jimin you know park seojoon is still interested in you right." Tae said loud enough for jungkook to hear with a mischievous smile.

"Yes I know" Jimin replied rolling his eyes.

"So what do you think? Do you want to go on a date with him?" Tae asked.

Jungkook silently scrunched his fists at the sound of that question he just didn't want to know the answer to it. He wished he could stand up and run away before he heard it. But it's too late he was already pretending to be asleep.

" well he's very tall and handsome and he has a really good career. I just don't know if he's right for me..."

Jungkook got happy inside thinking that a rejection was coming-

"But i am single right now and Im not seeing anybody so I have nothing to lose. Yes tell him im interested! You can go ahead and give him my number." Jimin said with a giggle.

Jungkook was devastated and he didn't know why this news even affected him. It wasn't anything to do with him. But still jungkook knew who seojoon was and he just wasn't sure that tiny Jimin was right for him. Would he be able to protect him properly? and love his personality properly? It worried jungkook. But at the same time he was furious that Jimin would agree to something like this when he doesn't have any experience in dating. This time he actually wanted to go to sleep to try and forget everything that he heard. That was until...

Ping!!

"Oh my god he has messaged me already" Jimin laughed like a hyper teenager.

"What did he say?" Tae questioned eagerly.

At this point both Jimin and taehyung had forgotten about the maknae sleeping next to them and stopped paying attention to whether he was awake or not.

"He said 'hi im the US for a while, do you want to meet up for coffee?" Jimin said.

"Well what are you going to say?" 
Taehyung asked.

"Idk tae what about jungkook?" Jimin said looking at jungkook fondly.

Jungkooks heart started racing. (Did he just say what about me? What does that even mean? Does he enjoy confusing me?) jungkook thought.

"Forget jungkook jiho is obsessed with Jk and let's be honest, he is obsessed with her too." Tae said frustratedly.

"Yeah I guess you're right" Jimin said sadly.

(I'm not obsessed with jiho! Why does he think that? Why did Jimin seem sad? What does all of this mean?!) Jungkook screamed internally. Jungkook felt angry at the thought of Jimin dating seojoon but he didn't quite understand his emotions right now.

When the plane landed Jimin shook jungkook, who had dozed off, and tried to wake him up.

"Wake up jungkook" Jimin said gently stroking Jungkooks hair.

"Stop it" Jungkook said bluntly.

Jimin just moved his hand away feeling embarrassed.

"What's wrong jungkook?" Jimin asked with puppy eyes.

Jimin pulling this cute face made him more angry as he found it hard to resist.

Ping!

"You might want to answer that. You wouldn't want to keep your precious boyfriend waiting now would you?" Jungkook said with a disgusted look while getting up and walking towards the exit of the plane.

Jimin looked at tae,

"I told you he was awake!" Taehyung said.

After they got off the plane Jimin ran after jungkook and pulled his arm making him turn around.

"What's wrong with you? Did I do something wrong?" Jimin asked.

"Just stop asking me dumb questions. There is nothing wrong with me." Jungkook said raising his voice a little.

"I don't have a boyfriend jungkook" Jimin clarified.

"Yes but it won't take long until he is your boyfriend because we all know what you're like!" Jungkook said shouting and looking at Jimin with a smug glare.

Jimin felt like a knife had gone through his chest. (Wow he must really think of me like this) Jimin thought. His soft heart caused him to instantly tear up at Jungkooks words. He was genuinely hurt this time. He didn't even want to look at jungkook anymore.

Jungkook felt instant regret. He hates hurting jimins feelings but his anger gets the best of him sometimes.

"Hyung I'm sorry I-"

"From now on please stay away from me. Let's keep things professional on camera for army but that is the only extent that we can go to." Jimin said looking down with his voice cracking.

Jungkook felt his heart break. He had really done it this time. He had never felt hurt like this before. How was he going to live without Jimin clinging to him or making jokes with him and his beautiful smile making everything better.
In this moment jungkook didn't know what to do. He had caused this and he didn't even know why he was angry in the first place because he knows he had no right.

Jimin walked up to rm.

"Hyung I am sorry. I have tried my hardest with jungkook but nothing is working and we have both agreed to keep things professional for army but please don't be angry." Jimin said with red Cheeks and nose after crying.

"It's okay jiminie I can't force anything just as long as you both do your jobs for the fans and our team I don't really mind." Rm said understandingly.

Out of the corner of his eye jungkook saw Jimin sitting there with his head down not showing anyone his eyes.

Just as their cars had arrived jungkook was about to get in his car when he asked the security,

"I thought I was sharing the car with Jimin?"

"No sir he had requested to have a car of his own to take him back to the hotel."  The security explained.

Jungkook silently got in and felt his eyes water. (Why do I care this much? Why can't I get his broken hearted look out of my head?) Jungkooks thoughts ran around his head.

"I need to fix this" Jungkook said to himself.

What will jungkook do to try and make things right?? Or what will Jimin do to try and purposely get under Jungkooks skin??
