More than friends, less than lovers

Seventeen

As jungkook laid Jimin down on the bed he looked at Jimin and felt himself get really upset. This was because he just felt so guilty about what he had put Jimin through even though he knew he loved Jimin and wanted to be with him, he was unsure if it was the right decision.

Jungkook sat and contemplated what he would do all night while Jimin was fast asleep. When he finally decided, he left a note on jimins bedside table and left to go back to Seoul.

As Jimin woke the next morning he felt very confused as to how he got home when the last thing he remembers was being in the bar. Just as he got himself together he noticed the note on the table. He picked it up feeling confused and read it.

Good morning Hyung. I have decided to go back to Seoul and let you have your rest away from everyone properly. But what I really want to say is that I am so sorry for everything that has happened so far. From now on I will do everything I can to protect your heart and if that means I have to let you go then I will do that even if it kills me inside. You gave me everything and I didn't do the right thing or treat your heart right. I want you to go on and have fun with different people and make lots of new memories. Just live happily.
The last thing I need you to know is that I will always love you more than anything.
You're my forever person.

As Jimin read it his hands started to shake and he knew this was what he needed even though it hurts. He felt alone and broken but over all he knew jungkook did this to help him stop hurting.

As Jimin spent his last few days in busan he just stayed home with his family and spent quality time with them and felt comfortable and happy. On his last day before he left he got a message from none other than park Seojoon.

"Hi Jimin it's been a while, I guess you have been busy. Do you want to meet up soon?" The message read.

Jimin didn't know what to reply as it all felt really sudden but then he realised he needs to put himself out there more.

"Yes sure I should be free tomorrow afternoon." Jimin replied.

As Jimin was packing his bags he came across the letter again and folded it and kept it inside one of his favourite books.

It was the next day and Jimin had been home and got settled back in the dorm. He didn't see jungkook yet but he didn't want to avoid it as he just wanted things to seem normal.
He got ready for his date and headed out to the restaurant.

As usual he had a great time with Seojoon and Jimin really liked him. He loved spending time with him because they had so much in common and have a lot of fun together.

As Seojoon walked Jimin back to the dorm they linked arms as it was really cold outside. Just as they reached the front door Jimin was about to say goodbye but then the door opened and out walked jungkook.

"Oh Hyung hi, and park Seojoon sshi right?" Jungkook said with a smile while shaking Seojoons hand.

"Did you have a good time? Even in this cold?" Jungkook continued with a big smile pretending like this wasn't crushing him inside.

This was so different for Jimin to see but he was grateful that jungkook was trying.

"Yeah it was really fun as it always is with Jimin. He's the best company." Seojoon said with a big smile as he jokingly bumped into Jimin.

Jimin felt weird. It really felt like jungkook was being genuine. Jimin stood there with a small smile.

"Right well I will be going now because I have plans of my own. Why don't you go in and have a hot drink together it's far too cold outside. See you later Hyung, bye seojoon." Jungkook walked off with a fake smile.

(What plans does he have? No I shouldn't even think about it. It's none of my business.) Jimin thought.

As Jimin and seojoon walked inside and had a drink jungkook had his own mission.
He was finally going to set things straight with jiho.
As he reached the park he was meeting her in, he sat down and said,

"Jiho I'm sorry but this isn't fair to you or me. I don't want to be in a relationship with you and I think it would be better if we just stayed as friends." Jungkook said suddenly to get it out of the way.

"Wow that was a lot. But I understand that you can't force yourself to like me. But can I ask something? You didn't feel like this last time so what changed?" She asked with no bad intentions.

"I fell for someone else but unfortunately I messed things up. I think being alone is the best thing for me right now." Jungkook continued.

Jiho knew it was Jimin. She saw the looks and the tears that they both had that day. She just felt awful about what had happened when she kissed him.

"I'm so sorry jungkook for what I caused." she said with tears in her eyes.

"No don't be silly it's okay. Everything happens for a reason so I'm just going with the flow of things right now." Jungkook continued.

Back at the dorm Jimin and seojoon were just talking but Jimin kept loosing focus and daydreaming and he didn't want to admit it but it was all about jungkook. He just couldn't stop thinking about him...
