Nightmares

The stars on the night sky glanced back at you while you sat on a log with the emo adeptus beside you, you were about to drift off to sleep when you suddenly felt a heaviness make its way to your shoulder, you looked at your shoulder and saw the emo adeptus resting his head on your shoulder. "Uh...Xiao?" he didn't answer, so you assumed he was asleep, you reached out to grab the blanket nearby and wrapped it around the two of you. You continued looking up at the starry sky until you felt your eyelids get heavy too.

You woke up on the log, you rubbed your eyes and stretched looking up to be faced with the moon still up in the starry sky. However, you couldn't see Xiao anywhere nearby, you started to panic, thoughts weighing up in your head. Calming down, knowing you can trust your significant other because he's not that easy to defeat.

You ran around the woods occasionally calling out his name making sure you aren't too loud to alert any hilichurl camps, also because you didn't have a weapon with you at the moment.
You realized just calling out his name isn't going to work so you started shouting his name a little louder as your panic estate started coming back.

You started slowly losing hope until something in the distance caught your eye, oh shit, a hilichurl camp, just your fucking luck. The hilichurls weren't asleep. You slowly snuck away hopefully to not alert anyone of them until one of them noticed you and started warning the others about your presence.  You already started running away as they ran after you.

You started losing stamina feeling you can barely continue running anymore as they all caught up to you. You hid behind a tree recovering your stamina a bit you could hear them get closer even if your stamina hasn't recovered the slightest. Until you heard a familiar voice along with the sound of a plunging attack the voice said "Worthless!" quickly knowing who it is you ran out of your hiding spot to see the dark-haired boy you were looking for, he finished eliminating he SpUnG hIs ArmPolE sUpEr C O O L-Y [not a word] before it vanished into the air. You yelled out his name "Xiao!" he turned over to you with his usual cold expression as you couldn't help give him a giant hug, you could tell something was wrong when he didn't show the slightest bit of affection back, not even putting a hand on your back like he usually would. You pulled away and looked up [you don't even have to he's 5'2...] glancing at his golden eyes "Is there something bothering you?" he blinked as you avoided the question and said, "Let's get back to our camp." then proceeded to walk his way back to the camp as you followed behind him.

While traveling back to camp you had many attempts asking him what was wrong but received not a single reply from him. You started getting sort of frustrated and upset about the way he's acting, this feels like he's giving you the silent treatment or ignoring you. You stopped walking to wipe away the tears slightly forming in your eyes due to being angered by this idiot adeptus, he stopped walking too, then turns his head to look at your face. He sighed and said, "I'll tell you." as the both of you continued walking back to camp, he starts telling you about the nightmare, the two of you were back at the camp just when he finished.

You sat beside him on the same log and reassured him that won't happen multiple times. After setting a blanket onto the grass and putting some pillows onto the side of the logs to act as pillows, the both of you laid down there silently. Looking over at him, although his eyes were shut he looked like he still couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard he tried. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled his head onto your chest, you felt him stiffen up then calm down. He put an arm around your waist. As the both of you started to drift off to sleep.

And then at 4 in the morning he wakes up and gets flustered and goes on a killing spree I mean evil conquering.
